I've seen this question pop up a couple of times but no answer yet:

When will the paints ship?

Paints and metal stuff will ship as soon as humanly possible. We're shooting for within 30 days after the close of the campaign*.

*This is not a guarantee, but our goal.

]Historically, it takes about a week after the Kickstarter closes before most companies even send out the survey - Reaper's will probably be right along there. Then they have to collate all that data, and see how much paint to make, how many Sophies, etc. They they have to make it, then pack and ship. A month sounds optimistic to me.

So we're saying S   N?

The biggest difference between Vince's experiences and the one offered via Kickstarter is the Kickstarter DYOM includes 20 copies of the figure, 6. We will work as closely with you, the concept artist, and the sculptor as you can stand to help make your vision a reality!

20 copies? Spiffy!

However, there are some things they can do right now to prep for that. FREX, while they may not know exactly how many Sophies will be needed, they can get a rough idea based just on how many backers at each level, and have the bulk of them spun and cast before the Kickstarter is even over.

The paint is going to be a little harder, but I don't see any reason they couldn't start mixing it and bottling it before they've gotten back all the surveys.

I think the paint would actually be easier. The new colours will be generally available through retail once the Kickstarter backers have received ours. Therefore they can start mixing them now if they want to (and/or haven't already done so).

hmmm... I am really wanting to bulk up my monster hordes. It's nice that I can add to my pledge to double or triple up on dragons, or giants at the vampire level.. The "Dungeon Attack" would be easy enough, just +$15 and note in the survey you want another... But what if I would like to double or triple up on the "Undead Horde"?

The only reason I thought the paint might be a little harder is for reasons of freshness and using up to much base material.

If they accidentally cast too many Sophies, they can simply melt them down and use the metal to cast different minis. If they accidentally mix up too much of a particular color of paint, they can't really re-use it.

I saw Reaper added a FAQ on the VIP at ReaperCon level, which has so far had no takers. Which I sort of understand, as it is a chunk of change! But it is also a Really Cool Thing! I make no claims to being a super interesting person, but I would absolutely pay to hang out with the other folks in the artist group. Everyone at the table is enthusiastic, helpful and encouraging. We swap all kinds of tips and insights, but also lots of interesting stories and crazy jokes. Some of the most interesting people I know sit at that table. And with that pledge level you don't just get to hang out at the artist table, you join us for meals and activities, so you're definitely going to get to hear stories and jokes as well as cool hobby insights and tips.

NOTE: Reaper did not request and may not even endorse this message. I'm just caught up in Kickstarter fever!

Reaper just plain rocks... I was crest fallen when I found out you were looking to hire a web developer and you had already filled the position a few months back... Ahh well.. Thanks for all the sweet options in the kickstarter.

Ohh wait... but I don't know how much to increase my pledge now...

Or do you mean to imply that +$10 pledge will get you whatever additional option (Giants, Dragon, Undead Horde, Dungeon Attack, BBEG, Fighters) you wish?

We will have a system in place for that, too!

On the other hand, paint stays fresh for a long time. After all, once it's mixed, packed and shipped there's no telling how long it will sit on a retailer's shelf before it's purchased - let alone how long before it's opened and used.

We're fairly clever at this sort of thing. Don't get stressed. We got it covered. :poke:

Shut your mouth! I would never say Soon™.
