In other news... will we make the next stretch goal by tomorrow? The mind boggles....

I'm hoping that with it being Friday we'll sail right past the Dwarves this evening and hit the Orcs before Saturday *fingers crossed*

It is a pre-order for a product.

If your dad buys you minis already he should like this, $31 for 20 minis is really cheap. (As a dad I'm buying them to share with my kids who will be very excited to be able to paint 10 orcs each!)

It's funny you say this, b/c as a dad I'm going to be bumping up my order a significant amount for a similar reason. My son is only 2 years old, but he loves to play with my old dnd miniatures; I don't let him handle my painted miniatures. He's to the point now where he wants toys to do battle with one another, and this pre-order is a fantastic way to get him some toys that will be durable enough to withstand his rough play.

I'm about 90% certain the wife will buy this.

John was the Walrus in Magical Mystery Tour, but then in the song Glass Onion he says, "The Walrus was Paul." This was to give credit to Paul for keeping the Beatles together after the death of their manager. Sorry, I'm a Beatles goober. See my Rickenbacker avatar!

I'm going to blast the Beatles "Rain" at neighbor hating volume when I open the box of Bones. Nice avatar indeed.

Yeah, I'm letting my boys spend their allowances on the stretch goals if they like. They've both opted in for Ebonwrath and my older son is also going for the giants. I think it will also be a good lesson in waiting and patience.

Probably a fairly safe bet considering that they have reduced the gap between goals now and the Orcs are only 10,000 higher than the Dwarves.

My 3 year old has been playing with my PPM/DDM for quite some time. He lost my purple worm though.

I'm not sure that the 10K gap will continue. All the orcs are in the initial set so this stretch isn't for the molds this time. Its just a reward to build your orc horde. We will see what happens when we hit the mark for the dwarves and the post orc reward is revealed.

hmmm... I am really wanting to bulk up my monster hordes. It's nice that I can add to my pledge to double or triple up on dragons, or giants at the vampire level.. The "Dungeon Attack" would be easy enough, just +$15 and note in the survey you want another... But what if I would like to double or triple up on the "Undead Horde"?

At survey time, we're going to have an option to accommodate you.

Ohh wait... but I don't know how much to increase my pledge now...

We will have a system in place for that, too!

Ok, with the reveal of the Ork option.... I think I see where this is going now. ^_^ And it makes me happy..

I'm dumb. I saw the kickstarter notice at the top of the front page and ignored it until after I bought the miniatures I'd come to buy -- 65111 Frost Giant Warrior, 65100 Frost Giant Warrior, 14599 Frost Giant Jarl, and 03431 Frost Giant Princess -- and then I checked the kickstarter. And discovered I could have picked up the Jarl and Princess for $10 instead of $40. And in plastic, which I have to admit is a lot easier to work with when dealing with really large figures.

:(

Oh well, such is life. At least I got the Fire Giants in plastic.

(And please, MOAR PAINT SETS. $1.50/bottle is a freaking steal and I want MOAR. About a half dozen models got moved to the back of my queue once I saw that Vampiric Flesh is coming.)

Heh. I recently uncovered some minis (a bunch of Reaper kobolds and orcs) that I "sacrificed" so my kids could paint them several years back. They were about ages 4-8 then. Let me tell you… these miniatures look great, but they're not all that fierce or naturalistic looking. Lots of pinks and neon colors, plus interesting uses of metallics. I was considering trying to strip them and repaint them to use in a low-level campaign for which I'll need lots of low-level monster figures, but with this KickStarter letting me get so many for so cheap, I'm just going to keep them as they are as a memento.
