@Buglips- some of the Dark Sword minis do require a little bit of green stuff work, but not all of them. There are a few reviews of DS minis over at WAMP, so if you're even remotely interested I'd suggest reading a review or two. As one of the reviewers I can tell you that most of the figures only needed a tiny amount of GS work if you want to be a perfectionist. I can't recall any off the top of my head where it was absolutely required for assembly or to fix a problem.

I'll use GS when I have to - it's pretty much required for multipiece or dragons anyway. Most of the reason I don't like GS is because it's adding foreign material to my pure metal piece. But with something like Takhisis, it's either that or live with half-inch gaps.

Lesser of two evils there.

I also don't usually base either, striving to preserve the miniature in as close to "pure from the package" form as I can. Sometimes, like with the Reaper Princess of Hell, I don't have any other choice unless I want to put up with a demon chick who can't stay upright. And she's awesome, so she gets a pass. But a lot of the Klocke pieces have tiny narrow bases that might require rebasing (a penny suffices here) and as a result I tend to pass them by and look for something with a nice broccoli base.

(Somebody once asked if anybody even liked the broccoli bases, now you know. Right here, baby. Love 'em.)

So if DS needs a little work, I'm ok with it. Especially since so many are so lovely. I'm just trying to limit the lines I'm buying from to keep my shelf of shame (and drawer of many things) to slightly-less-than-insane levels. So as much as I love every DS mini I've ever seen, I have to say no.

And if given half a chance, I'd buy up every single set of Bob Murch's Pulp Figures line. Those rock my world. But then the Otherworld guys are doing the 1st Edition Monster Manual figures. And the RP Shadowrun figures look nice. And RAFM has that rather nifty Call of Cthulu line . . .

It'll never end. I turn down all kinds of fantastic looking miniatures in my single-minded quest to only buy the three R's. I have to, it's the only way to keep the numbers manageable. Because the minute a pair of Go-Gangers makes its way onto my table the dam will break and I'll have more tin than an Indonesian magnate.

If you EVER get into Warhammer eBay will be your best friend :)

It's one of those games I'm content to play on 'demo days'...nobody in my circles plays either. Same conundrum I'm in with RAGE-powered games...no players local, so they get repurposed for DnD and Battletech nights...a job they're quite good at!

Fair enough. ^_^

But hey at least you have DnD and Battle tech.

I do not have a battle tech group in my area.

Right now, we've got 97 standard, plus 2 Fire Giants, 2 Frost Giants, 1 Dragon, and 20 Orcs.

Once we hit Mind your Manors, add 3 Large Creatures.

As of the moment we hit Townsfolk, it'll be 102 standard, plus 2 Fire Giants, 2 Frost Giants, 1 Dragon, 20 Orcs, and 3 Large Monsters.

They just keep piling it on...as that doesn't count 2 12-pot sets of paint or the carry case!

And now that I know what it is, I can't not see the shape of the case on that tombstone.

I really need to figure out how to get some money so that my monthly budget doesn't take the hit that it looks like it is going to take.

I have a massive D&D miniatures collection for running my D&D games...it sucks that there is like no demand so that I can re-route fundage.

Whoa dude, there are people in Northern Utah?

On Topic: What number do we need to reach for the next Dragon? $350k? $375K?

Nuts, I'm on the other side of the country. I don't like Pay to Win games, so Mechwarrior Tactics is something I'm not exactly sold on. I know Megamek exists, but the last time I tried to fire that up, it kept disconnecting the remote players.

There's gotta be a way...

Let me look into a few things I might be able to dig something up.

Is it just me, or is there going to be a big mob of people at the next ReaperCon, casually trying to swap out the Bones from their Vampire Level that they didn't actually want for other Bones that they did? This could be an interesting networking thing...

So you are saying that we should start planning the Vampire level trading session now to make sure we get space?

Hell, if this gets as big as I'm starting to think, we might want to ask Bryan for a rollycart or table, like the Melt Table. Only this would be the Bones Table, where if you didn't want one of your Klockes, you could trade it for a BBEG or something... whatever was available.

I'm not complaining. I intend to keep most of my Bones from my pledge. But there are a few that are redundant, and I'd cheerfully trade 'em to anyone who wanted 'em in exchange for something else. More goblins, for example. Or another orc. Or... you get the picture.

I agree with this. There are several minis in the vampire level that I already own, and have already painted. I could do another, but I generally like something new/challenging. I'll happily meet up to do some trading.
