It was posted to /r/rpg in the very beginning, and didn't get much attention. I don't know about elsewhere :(

 

Ok...I might not do it then, redditors can be brutal about reposts. Like I said, I'm still new, and don't wanna get shouted at. Hell, it took me a year of lurking before I got comfy enough to start posting here.

How are folks planning on painting (completely, partially or not) the trans red and green minis?

I'll probably just ink them for definition.

 

Very few of my Bones are going to get painstaking paint jobs...

If you wanted to go crazy I can see painting most of the model, leaving some rims of transparency here and there, and then using the LED trick looking kickass.

 

That is a wonderful idea.

 

Painting the Wraith's robes so the light comes out through the open cowl and sleeves would make for an eerie effect. I might have to try that when my Bones arrive.

I'm a Luddite. I don't know what Reddit is.

 

Everything on the internet. Literally everything, organized into "subreddits" Any interest you may have, it's pretty specific, and it's pretty addicting.

 

I did a search, and it's been posted a few times. I upvoted, and that's the way to get things visible.

 

Moderators: May I post a link to there, for other Reaper redditors to go and upvote? There's a potentially huge untapped audience.

The fire elementals will get washed with 09235 Red Shadow, then lightly drybrushed with 09006 Fire Orange and 09008 Sun Yellow.

 

The haunts will get a wash of 09236 Green Shadow, then lightly drybrushed with 09015 Jade Green and 09009 Lemon Yellow.

This sounds like something I might try as well.

 

Simple, but still with a great degree of enhancement.

Thanks for that and to the other folks that answered my question. That does look pretty strait--forward and doable. Maybe I won't prime them right away. If I screw it up I can always prime over and paint them like regular minis.

Since watery paint doesn't play nice with bones, i'd suggest starting with a layer of clear varnish before glazing or washing.
