I got sucked in by succubi already.

I was thinking about your username today. I found an orb weaver outside a window facing the inside and got a real nice close-up. I've been trying to get a good snap of an orb weaver's pattern for at least two years, but they keep dancing around when I get close.

Now I've got a good reference for when I tackle all my dark elf pets.

Oh, I love a good orb weaver, but they're ridiculous hard to get a good photo of, nice job. If it's dry by you, flick a few water droplets on her web, she'll appreciate it, and that'll be a pretty picture, too. I use favored invert websites for inspiration, or my own pets.

She's very pretty.

Here's the best shot resized to 50%. As you can see by the lighting, being too dry wasn't an issue for very long. I'd have liked better lighting, but I wasn't going to set off a flash right in her eyes. It's bright enough for my needs, and I can probably manipulate it in an editor later.

I have a large bookcase with books obviously, but it also has a section with 2 glass doors. Both doors span 5 shelves (plus the bottom) so I have 6 shelves where I can place stuff on display as it were. One shelf has all my miniature painting stuff, the rest has various things such as model kits, statuettes and some collectable action figures. It's perfect for miniatures even though none are in mine atm.

As my miniatures are mostly used for HeroQuest, I've made a custom wooden box to store the game in, all accessories, cards, the game boards and miniatures, with extra room for future mini's.

So, I've only been in this for about a month, for the most part. I'd gotten a few minis before (they had this really good deal on them at Gamerati when they had their Loot program, and I thought it'd be a good stepping-in point), but I haven't been seriously looking for minis until I got back from my latest deployment.

I got a couple of eBay deals that seemed good, bought some at the local gaming stores. Stuff to hold me until March.\

So, about a week-and-a-half ago, I went to visit a friend who runs a comic shop out of the local swap meet. I mentioned my new hobby. He mentioned he'd just gotten in some old gaming minis, and he'd give me a good deal on them. It included paints, some tools, and containers. We arrived on a price (I made a reasonable offer, and he immediately dropped the price by fifty bucks; he's a very nice guy). I didn't really think about how many minis there were, though, until I decided to check to see how many skeletons I had, with a thought towards making a little battle group to go with the colossal skeleton.

Hoo boy.

These are, for the most part, from that lot. The light blue blisters are from the aforementioned Gamerati deal, the baggies of bones came from eBay, as did the Box O' Cthulhu (seriously, what could anyone do with 120 Cthulhu statuettes?), but the vast majority of these I got from my buddy. Sweet jiminy Gandalf. I didn't count all the minis, but there are hundreds there. Everything from old Ral Partha and Grenadier to Games Workshop and Reaper.

I... I'm gonna bigger workspace.

Oh, and if you were wondering, the answer was twenty-eight. Twenty-eight skeletons. Not counting the horsemen or the giant skeleton.

I see Parthas in the pile.

What's in that AD&D blister to the right of the Bones? (he asked nonchalantly)

Seriously, though - if you want stuff ID'd I'm willing to help. Never know what you may find in a lot, and I price stuff honestly even if it's something i'm interested in. You might have a gem in there and not know it, and if it's a mini you can live without it could finance a lot of new blisters or paint.

ETA: I also think I see a Red Dragon of Krynn!

MUCH WANT

Drawer o shame. I've also got about a dozen or so packaged minis, 2 GW BB MVPs, some Reapers in blisters and a few direct buy from McVey's in baggies. (my modern era buys)

Also a couple of misc boxes and I forgot I had this little mini shame shelf.

None of the completed minis are painted by me...only the partials.

Thanks for the offer! I'll start getting some pictures taken tonight.

The blister contains 15mm dwarven axmen. Not sure what to use them for. They're tiny!

And yep, that's a Red Dragon of Krynn all right.
