A 3 pack of a Bones version of 02361: Skeletal Cavalry would be cool.

I really like these types of minis in the bendy plastic. Metal and plastic both can be a bit too brittle for good skeletal (and other minis with thin bits). I am really glad they pulled out the ice wrym in Bones because I have been wanting the not-Remorhaz, but I haven't wanted to deal with the legs breaking off.

As for conjecture.... I think when we pull the sword from the stone, it will open up sekirt passage to another deep dark passage.

I don't think the sword is pirates though. I think it might be more pathfinder minis.... or kings and princes, with the whole king Arthur kinda thing.

Maybe I'm seeing things where there is nothing, but when I saw the title of the last update:

Avengers, Assemb--- No!! HAIL HYDRA!! $1,660,000 Achieved!

I immediately thought of this post:

HAIL HYDRA!!!

(Next goal: Chronoscope superheroes, so I can call out "Avengers Assemble." Please?)

And one of those Lizardfolk looks like I'll FINALLY be able to paint up a reasonable mini for one of my favorite old PCs. I'll still have to swap out a spear for a bow, but that's easy. The Reptus have never looked svelte enough.

over in the Kickstarter discussion thread.

Hmmmm.

I wonder how they are deciding what to do. Obviously some of it will be what has been popular in metal and that should sell well. Beyond that though for instance why not a monk. I would think they would be trying to cover all the bases for rpg. Why new sculpts instead of using old for say lizardmen. This isn't a complaint at all, more just musing.

Like everything else, it is a fine balancing act. Diversity ensures that the release appeal to a wide range of buyers. Obviously, Reaper wants this to do as well as possible. If all they released into Bones in this KS project were their 200 best-selling SKUs, all of the hardcore fans would go, "hey, I already have most (all) of these!" Sure, they could include some less-popular SKUs instead, but does that make any sense? Why try to push models that didn't sell well to begin with (unless the issue was price point)? By mixing in new stuff, it helps people like me, who already own thousands of Reaper figures, to feel like we're getting a new shiny toy.

Re: the monk. How many monks do you see at an average gaming table, vs. other core classes? I can tell you that in running my gaming campaign, I've had a number of players come and go over the 6+ years, and several character swaps as well. I neither encourage nor discourage any particular class over another. In all that time, I've had zero monks. That's a slightly skewed response, but does speak to the general popularity (or lack thereof) of the class. For further evidence, look at the Reaper line overall; thousands of SKUs, and how many monk sculpts are there?

Ah, Shaka-khansan, as I'm sure you're aware different folks, different strokes. I would say that since the advent of 3.0 and continuing on into 3.5 and Pathfinder, I can honestly say that in both the games that I've run and those that I've played in, the monk has been at least as popular as any other class. At least for a couple levels. Heck I played in a game once where we were all from the same monestary. I've also seen some insanely broken monk builds. To the point where I just couldn't understand why people were complaining that the monk was underpowered. Of course, as I've played in very few high (12+ levels IMO) games, I can't say for certain that an average monk build is effective at those levels. But mine were. YMMV
