I wonder if there's any way to extend the length of the kickstarter... at the rate it's going, even if you got just another 2 days or so you'd be looking at another $400,000 - $500,000!

Once the project is launched, its end time and date may not be changed. Likewise, we cannot change the goal number, and thus reflect stretch goals that way, not can we edit the descriptions of the grey sidebar to the right.

 

I'm actually really shocked by the limitations of the program, although i must say I am happy with what we have accomplished! (we includes all of you, not "we" reaper, but "we" gamers everywhere!)

 

It's actually pretty freaky how fast the money's rolling in - I open up my email every day after work and there's four or five new kickstarter notices, lol.

So, official Reaperpeeps, what's your reaction to hitting more than a million bucks? Were you guys expecting it to hit this kind of level?

We all had our own opinions. Some expected this, some didn't. I'd rather not make myself look stupid by posting what I expected...

I've made money on some seriously wild calls (I predicted the 2008 US election contenders, winner, and final results within .5% of the popular vote a year in advance of the election and made crazy money - and I don't even live in the US!) but if you'd asked me to give odds on this Kickstarter before it went live I think I would have excused myself from making any prediction.

For what it's worth, they started blowing way past my overall projection model about a week ago. No way you can even begin to predict something like this. If they continue to accelerate at the current velocity, they will be over $3m by closing. Even if the sustain the current level, they'd be at $2.5m easy. That's insane!

I'd love to see how our numbers (backers, growth, etc) stack up compared to the other big projects like Ouya. Ouya had big donations from a couple of big developers and companies, but I'd love to see if percentage wise we did better with smaller contributions
