Pledging for Bones kickstarter question

Recommended Posts

Apologies in advance because the answer is probably here somewhere, but with over 100 pages in some of the discussions I get trying to keyword search, I kinda gave up :-)

I am wanting to pledge at Vampire level and add on the awesome minis case. It says to add that amount to your pledge. I have tried starting at 100 and starting at 125, and no options to say where the extra money goes will come up. The only option I have is to confirm the order, something I am reluctant to do without knowing that something is going to pop up asking what I want to do with the extra money. Any help is appreciated.

Not that I really NEED 100+ more minis to paint, but damn, are they too cool or what?

there will be a survey sent when the project closes, about a week afterwards, where you explain where the extra money is going.

so put in the 125, click on vamp level and process the pledge.

Is it also possible to pledge Vampire, plus buy some regular (old) bones or even other metal miniatures from your website, and have them sent in 1 package?

I've got my eye on Vampire, but also some old bones and some other mini's from the shop.

If that's possible, I'll just add up the costs of the miniatures from the shop, and add that to the $100,- vampire pledge, plus $25,- shipping to Europe (I hope that the $25 will cover everything, as I won't be adding a lot of mini's)

Keeping a spreadsheet is a good idea! that way I can fill in that info in the survey.

Thanks!

I am not sure about the logistics of combining internet orders and kickstarter orders...

With over 3,000 orders and climbing, finding your order and matching it to your pledge will be like finding a needle in a haystack, and I cannot promise we can do it.

That sounds logical. I'll just pledge "regular" Vampire level then, perhaps with some Kickstarter extra's such as the Miniature storage case.

But please let me know if matching additional orders can be done. A good idea perhaps would be to simply up your pledge with the cost of the miniature's you'd want to order along with the bones, and fill out the form with those order numbers. Because then I can still up my pledge for the appropriate amount before the Kickstarter project ends, and fill in the mini's I'd like in your survey. If not, then so be it. Perhaps I'll get lucky and some miniatures from my list might get added to the Vampire level ;)

(these would the the mini's I'd be interested in ordering along with the bones pledge:)

02328: Lorath, Orc Shaman (€4.49)

14060: Leisynn, Mercenaries Mage (€4.12)

03179: Roshtand the Green, Arch Druid (€4.49)

77004: Cave Troll (€1.72)

77009: Werewolf (€1.49)

77013: Minotaur (€2.62)

I guess the other question is do you really want to wait that long for your order? Bones won't be shipping till next year, if the minis you want don't end up in that Bones release you could just order them now and have them painted up long before your Bones order arrives.

I'm going to go on record and say that the Kickstarter orders are going to be kept separate from the regular internet orders. It's just not a feasible proposition with our fulfillment logistics.

It *could* be a good idea, but the databases are being kept separate for some very particular reasons. And that makes it nigh-impossible to keep track of this proposition with any accuracy.

Okay, well, thanks for clearing that up :)

and @Heisler: I wouldn't mind waiting if it saved shipping and/or customs costs :) I'm in no hurry. Got plenty of miniatures that still need to be painted ;)

I backed the Bones 5 kickstarter and was informed that my wave (8) will be shipped out sometime in April. Do I have an option when it comes to how it will be shipped to me?
I am having difficulty with mail at the moment. My monthly Reaper mini order was stolen last November and I have been wary about receiving packages at my address since. If the kickstarter package can be delivered via UPS, I can have it held at a contact point. If not, I'll have to put in a Hold Mail request to my local USPS, get a PO box or hope that I'm home when the package arrives. I live in an apartment building with no security and no one I can trust to leave my packages with. I have considered getting my mail delivered to my workplace, but would rather not get them involved.

Anyone else have any problems receiving their mail and what kind of solutions can you offer.

Goblin Menace indeed!  I was doing fine with the other group of goblins I did 2 weeks ago, but these little green bast...guys were not as fun.

      Wins:
      * Found an EXCELLENT new paintbrush - Master's Touch from Hobby Lobby.  Dang! I've been missing this level of spring in the bristles and fine edge with them.  Love it.
      * Tried diluting steel color with black ink to help with application.  Worked great!  Will do again.
      * Switched the Sta-Wet Palette paper that came with it to just simple parchment paper.  I don't know who uses the actual paper in the Sta-Wet Palette, but that stuff is terrible!
      * Still using as much breast cancer awareness color pink (got like 4 bottles...need to use!)
      * dry brushing the hair came out much better this time.  Lighter touch and more layers - worked better.

      Misses:
      * Eyes this time were more difficult.  Tried doing those chibi eyes, but it wasn't as expressive this time.
      * Tried a base color of off-white in the eye - also didn't seem to give as much character to them.
      * Washed with Agrax Earthshade around the major bends and muscles.  Didn't seem to work as well this time.  I think it's time to try that black lining on the next goblin and see if Iike that instead.
      * using the new brushes have a bit of a learning curve to them.  Much more springy and reduced my need for pressure, however this caused some interesting streaks when I didn't mean to.
      * I did it again! I tried using my finger to dab off an excess streak and ended up taking off some of the baselayer AND primer.  With that being the second time it's happened - the best way I can describe what I did was the scene in Top Gun where the flight tower Captain gets a second fly-by.

Overall the color of Goblin skin still works great, but basecoat of VCG Flat Green may not have been best.  May just add black to Goblin Skin and then lighten it up as I go next time.

      Attempted different primers on them:
Girl with spear - primed in black with Vallejo Black spray primer
Chainmail goblin - primed in Vallejo Leather Brown spray primer (didn't like that as much...)
Stone chuckers - both of them were done in paint-on Vallejo grey primer.  (worked best)

Overall, they aren't bad, but they aren't my best.  Once I base them I'll feel better.  Might even go back after a few days to touch them up to see if I can straighten out the things I missed.

As always - open to feedback.  Thanks for the tips on the Metallics thread.  I put it to use, but still learning.

NOTE: You can choose one demo monster ( skull or abberattion) I chose a batwinged skull and added horns to try it.
