I almost hate taking pictures of these minis, not only because my photography skills suck but it seems to magnify all my little imperfections... at least my light looks less yellow this time... think i just need more of it...

anyway...

I like it! Looks good.

You know, the thing about these up-close micro images, is that they can reveal so-called "imperfections" that are not otherwise easily detectable to the naked eye. But since these things are supposed to look good to the naked eye, you shouldn't see them as imperfections. Really, anything could look bad or freaky if you can get a close-enough view of it.

Tell me about it. I'm thinking of naming my Ladies of the Table my Schmutzenfrau Collection.

Well, at any rate at least if I'm posting my hideous creations other people might feel better about theirs. It's my way of giving back to the community. :-p

I really like the figure, that face is really expressive.

I had the same issues with lighting Drayla. If you're interested I did a post on my blog about how us amateurs can get better results.http://miniaturesforroleplaying.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/photographing-miniatures-and-post.html

I hope you don't mind but i've used GIMP to remove the background, fix the white balance and brighten the image a bit just to show you what can be done even with a dark photo. The best results are of course achieved with good lighting. I'm by no means an expert, in fact i'm the perpetual amateur really but even an amateur can pick up a few tricks 8)
