domus2112
Signed up for the kickstarter yesterday! Amazingly enough I only just heard about then and couldn't pass up on such an amazing deal. Thanks for that! Just curious if Reaper has lined up a sculptor for this model and they are willing to divulge that information. Thanks in Advance! domus2112
Fair enough! Thanks for the response.. (*I was really thinking that if I knew someone like... say Sandra Garrity... was to sculpt this thing I would be that much more inclined to buy it. But who am I kidding, I am buying it anyway (or trading in Sophie for it...))
Shakandara
But who am I kidding, I am buying it anyway Yeah, really. You know Reaper is making it, and you know the quality of their work. Are they really going to produce a poorly sculpted dragon off of concept art like that? We both know the answer to that. ~v
ThornDJL7
My question is for Nethyrmaul vs. Kaladrax...I only need 1 Dracolich, and so I want whichever is actually bigger. The size difference seems to be primarily the rock Nethyrmaul chills on. Which "dragon" will actually be bigger?
buglips*the*goblin
We've got to have some information to put in updates for the next 6 months to keep you guys entertained.. :) The man knows us. If Reaper gave us all the info up front it'd be awesome for three days, and then we'd slowly get more and more bored until we started eating paste and putting minis in our mouth. Frankthedm
My question is for Nethyrmaul vs. Kaladrax...I only need 1 Dracolich, and so I want whichever is actually bigger. The size difference seems to be primarily the rock Nethyrmaul chills on. Which "dragon" will actually be bigger? It is so close I'm wondering why Nethyrmaul is $15 more. My guess is Reaper was conducting some pricing experiments or the price was set assuming the base was going to be part of the model. Important thing to note for the following image... we have no hard guarantee that Kaladrax's lady is as tall as the Knight. Also Sculptors are not perfect, scale may vary in the tradition from concept art to miniature. EDIT: It'd be nice to see an image with nethyrmaul lowered so the knight is next to his base, right next to an image of kaladrax, so we can figure out which dragon is "bigger" Please, let me sleep... Just Kidding! Big-K looks a little smaller than N-Bomb, but both should have plenty of yield to nuke the PCs. Think of them as them Fat man and Little Boy of weapons of mass player killing. Kaladrax looks like he might be able to squeeze onto a 3" round, but will want a 4" round due to wing tips. Kaladrax looks smaller by picture, but at the same time, his body and face are presented at forward angles, whereas nethyrmaul is presented almost entirely facing straight to the side. So they're about the same size, or kaladrax is -slightly- bigger.
damnitall22
Yeah, I would really like to know what size they are going to be. I have the DDM Dracolich so I would prefer to just get the larger of the two. Hopefully I can find out before I cash out my pledge.
thatguywiththeface
At the same time, frank, there's no guarantee that the knight is as tall as kaladrax's ladyfriend, as the knight appears to be... crouching, to some degree. But they're both ~28mm, so the dragons are probably about the same size. ALSO: as a result of THIS thread, I've changed my mind about which options I'm getting. I will list them-OH MY GOD THIS CURRY IS SO @#!&ING SCRUMPTIOUS-below, and as a new response in the options list thread. 1 kaladrax reborn 1 deep dwellers 1 there be dragons 1 extra fire it up 1 extra haunts 1 extra griffon 1 extra BBEG 1 extra grave danger c:
Shakandara
As both as just concept art at this time, I'd not try to read too much into the scale of the drawings. Unfortunately, that doesn't help those of you trying to decide between them. Personally, if I wanted both, but had to make the choice to defer one, I'd defer Kaladrax. He's less expensive in the KS, and therefore will likely be much less retail later. Easier to suck it up for a $20 purchase than a $50 one. Fortunately, I don't have to make that choice. I want them both, and I'll skip other small stuff to get the dragons first. ~v

GregR
Yeah, I've been trying to console myself with the notion that all of the things I can't get now will be available at retail later for that great Bones pricing. If the option pricing of 50% off MSRP holds true, it doesn't actually matter what you select now, if you intend to get the others later. $25 for Kaladrax and the two demons and spend $50 on Nethyrmaul later, or $25 for Nethyrmaul now and $50 for Kaladrax ($20) and the two demons ($30) later. That said, I'd actually be surprised if Nethyrmaul was a full $50. He'd kind of break the Bones pricing at that point... so if you think they'll find a way to get him down to $30, that might sway you. Plus we still have at least 6 weeks before the RPM is closed... time to get a second job!
recruittons
I do hope they hold true with Nethy being 2x his option price when he gets to retail. I actually messaged Reaper during the KS about what his retail price point would be and they told me "Count on it being at least double this price." cmorse
I wouldn't count on Kaladrax or Cthulhu retailing for $20. Pretty sure both were discounted a bit extra as the final thank you stretch goals.

Pretty sure both were discounted a bit extra as the final thank you stretch goals. I agree. The fact that cthulhu os supposed to be 8 inches tall (or more) would imply he would probably be quite pricey. Which is why Im getting nethy, kaladrax AND cthulhu! Can't pass up those deals
