They look really good, but the bright blue weapons pull the eyes from the figure. Great contrast on the reds.

I agree, they look good but I had to force myself to look at the figure and away from the weapons.

For sure the blue color contrast with the red skin color, but then only magically enhanced weapons can damage Giant Skull Scarab exoskeleton. And, since these infernal Beetle are immune to fire, electrically charged ice crystals seemed to be a good option to me.

Just for the fun of it, I took some time to modify those two pictures just to see how the weapon could have look painted with an incandescent metal tone.

Personally, since that’s the hardest part to paint for me, I'm particularly happy about their eyes. I think the pink beard also add some fantasy.

This is Miguel Zavala's redesigned Umber Hulk, printed on my Mars Pro and painted with Vallejo acrylics.

It's a monster I haven't used much, if at all, in my own campaign, but my favourite character of old, Sir Fnord the Pretty Neat died of them twice, both times by having his head ripped clean off.

I've been slowly (very slowly) working my way through some of the larger non-humanoid figures in my collection.  This one took me about  a year to complete, mostly because of the wings. I haven't figured out how to do the translucent effect yet, but I'm getting closer.

AKA: Sophie's mom.  This is a model that really needs to be made in metal.  It's just awful in plastic.  Anyway, she sat on my paint table a long time before inspiration broke through and I did the wings. The rest just took patience.

Hard to go wrong with sexy female demons, but this one was a devil in more than one sense of the word from start to finish.  Despite being cast in metal she is pretty fragile. The trident broke off and for years she sat in my box of unpainted figs, until one day I found the little pointy bit.  Her tail, likewise, kept bending and i was sure I'd lose that too.

Did her skin with the Bright Skin triad, because that's been waiting patiently for years as well.  Her face is a mess, but overall she came out ok.

Love these little guys, they are so cute and evil looking at the same time.  This is the Bones version.

I previously did two metal homonculi, who will be happy to have a new pack member.
