The KS really got me fired up and painting again. Completed 2 bones and 10 metals in the last two weeks, which is more than I did in the previous 6 monthes. I've had the metals since Christmas, but had just not gotten around to them. The bones I bought to test for paintability which they passed with flying colors.

Well, I took the 1hr drive to hit the craft store for some decent brushes and other misc supplies as well as check the stock at another Hobby store out that way. Unfortunately, the didnt have any Bones, beyond a few that one of the workers had picked up for their personal collection, but had just placed an order.

They said (interestingly) that they had missed the Kickstarter by about a week and were pretty bummed about that.

Looks like I will have to keep waiting for a little bit before I get a chance to try painting my first Bones. Until then, I will paint vicariously through all of you. :)

You are lucky to have a store near you that carries them. A couple days before the KS ended I went to my 2 local game stores (neither which carry Reaper) and tried to talk them into Undertaker levels, they said they would look into it....heres hoping!

I went and bought the Minotaur of the Maze and painted it yesterday. Had an absolute blast with it. Such a detailed miniature. I also found out that almost every person at my FLGS pledged, along with the store itself for Undertaker. Today, I'm picking up a bugbear, some orc archers, a dwarf warrior and a ghost!

I've never been interested in minis much, but I've accumulated a handful over the 33 years I've gamed. I never had any interest in assembling or painting minis in general, and wanted a set of good plastic minis that I could use at the table with no fuss. So I jumped on the KS. Afterwards, I bought one of about half of all the Bones available to see just how good they were. I found them to be exactly what I'd hoped for - sturdy, preassembled, and nice looking. I plan on getting at least one of each the others I didn't get already.

I too was very sad to see my FLGS does not carry the Bones line yet. Eff them, I ordered direct!

I let my FLGS know about the Bones line (and Kickstarter) he said they'd 'likely' carry the line. I thought he meant the line when the KS figures came out in March - turns out he ordered the whole line as it stands now and has sold 1/2 after just a few days! (Yeah, I even bought a Purple Worm and some Skeletons off of him as I felt bad not waiting for his order to come in).

Bones seem to be pretty popular around here - I might have to organize a paint party meet n' greet!

It seems that I have jumped in for a few more Bones myself. I ordered two Ogres to go with my 3 Worms I already had. I can't wait to see how the Ogre's will paint up. I haven't had a chance to use a brush on Bones yet, so it will be new territory for me.

Yeah... *raises hand* Actually, my enthusiasm for the Bones kickstarter was so contagious that even my non-gaming/non-painting girlfriend became excited. She liked a lot of the characters that came with the Vampire level pledge, so I upped my initial pledge to get her her own set, but neither of us want to wait that long to give them a try. I ended up ordering at least 10 of the current Bones as well as a learn to paint kit for her.

So, yeah, having someone to paint with is going to be awesome, and well worth the extra 100 to 150 for minis C.c

I picked up the Minotaur (or minitaur as the case may be :-P) and bugbear to see how I liked them, and I'm completely enamored. My previous mini experiences were the dnd prepaint packs, which left me leery. Now I'm thing to break down dnd buy a learn to paint kit while waiting for the paints from the kickstart.
