Suggestion for the Kickstarter - wider options.

Recommended Posts

On one hand, its only a few million minis to less than 20,000 customers, which shouldn't really be that to hard fufill from a logistics standpoint (initial mold projection may be another matter altogether).

However from a technical standpoint, adding more options increases complexity significantly and wasn't in the original plan - "mission creep" just sucks, they should just stick to their objective.

Only?!? Have you figured out the math on this? If they start producing the projected minis on September 1st, that comes out to just under 26,000 miniatures every day through the end of February - more than 1000 every single hour. I can pretty much guarantee you that no other miniatures company is going to be doing that over the next 6 months. And keep in mind that most of the molds aren't even made yet, and a number of the sculpts too.

This is a monumental task for any miniatures company, and I wouldn't bet on any other company being able to pull it off. Not even the giant in the sandbox.

we've come to know Reaper as a company that, while still keeping an eye on the bottom line, has always done everything they can to meet the requests of their fans. If Reaper tells us they can't/won't do something (as was the case with this topic), then further entreaties on the same subject are no longer just "suggestions".

^This.

It seems like everybody and their dog likes to rail on GW for its practices and how that company is "against its own fans". Reaper is the polar opposite of that, and sometimes it seems like it's still not enough for some people.

Reaper works hard for us, Reaper listens to us, and when something bad happens Reaper doesn't bar the gate and refuse to answer questions. Instead as soon as they know what's what, they come out and tell us (this happened when New Pro Paints met a premature demise because of packaging costs).

Reaper is the very definition of customer service.

As an aside, there are many, many suggestions out there that can seem very reasonable on the surface, particularly to the uninitiated, but can be a nightmare to implement.

This would be one of those cases - on the surface, it seems a reasonable request. Dig a little deeper into the logistics of doing it for 17,000+ customers, not so reasonable.

One of the things I really like about Reaper is that they try their hardest to educate us why things aren't always as reasonable as they seem on the surface, rather than just being obstinate and looking down their noses at us.
