Reaperbryan
As much as you and I butt heads, We do? You still mad about that monitor? I'm sure you've had to moderate some of my posts when I get caustic, but prior to the Kickstarter I don't remember that much conflict with you, and I've done some searching trying to find any quote wars we've had. Maybe I just remember moderating you more often than reality.
Zelkon
Hey, is there really a sales difference between a mini that looks like this: http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/Legendary%20Encounters/sku-down/20030 And ones that look like this?: http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/Legendary%20Encounters/sku-down/20023 There might well be... but I hope that I can throw my voice in as being in favor of the second over the first. I think they're both awesome, but the second one is a bit less ridiculous outfit-wise, and just overall feels more badass. My point being, of course, that female minis can still be awesome and not controversial.

One is a PC type, the other a monster. Sales would be different, even if they had more similar styles. I am saying this, though my preference also lies with the two weapon ranger. Compare female rangers to female rangers, female vampires to female vampires, and female necromancers to Ack! My eyes! In addition to the comments TheAuldGump offered, you also have to consider that you're using Legendary Encounters miniatures for comparison, which are pre-painted plastics. Pre-painted plastics don't appeal to most miniature collectors, since obviously painting them is a big part of the hobby. I'd hazard to guess that the majority of sexy miniature babes aren't bought for gaming, but rather for the pleasure of painting.

Anyway, my comparison was a generalization, not "does this sell more than this." it was more like, "do these types sell more than these types." But yeah, I get the idea. How bout this: do scantly clad/boob-hole-in-armor females or those in non-combat sell more than those who are none of these? (for the life of me I can't see why you'd buy a mini of normal size and not use it in game. Guess I'm just not a collector)
Corporea
Well, as a girl, I'll throw in a thumbs up for the giantess and a vote for minis with personality. :)

(for the life of me I can't see why you'd buy a mini of normal size and not use it in game. Guess I'm just not a collector) Market forces are a funny thing. With a figure like this, people come out of the woodwork to both support and complain. When we release a figure such as Valloa, those who complained about this didn't come out of the woodwork to support it, and the supporters of the Cloud Giantess don't come out to complain about Valloa. Modest figures get no "pushback". But we have done some tests. Conversions on the same figure, and released under different part numbers and names have shown that an immodest figure will outsell a more modest version of the same exact figure. A topless version will sell a LOT more, and full nudity will sell even more. Nevertheless, we try to use sensuality and nudity only where it is appropriate to the figure, for the character, the story, or the imagery. Obviously, Valloa would not be appropriate as a nude figure, for example.

CashWiley
I think Reaper does a great job offering a variety of concepts. If you don't like the nuderier ones, there's only several thousand more to choose from. As someone who has worked in a library for 12 1/2 years now, a musician to boot, I have an issue with censorship :) As Bryan points out, it's always appropriate to the mini. I'm not sure a lot of people are familiar with cloud giants, because even though she wasn't officially recognized as a cloud giant I instantly recognized the amazing concept art as such. It's a perfect female cloud giant. At least it's not as bad as the crap Studio McVey is having to put up with, they've got people complaining to the point of locked threads and deletes that some of their KS sculpts are too ugly or vary from the concept too much. Gotta love humans and the internets.
