Storm Giants have violet color, but I think the blue color is better.

Only the rare ones in early editions. Most are green.

I gotta say, the green just doesn't look right to me. It doesn't fit thematically. I like storm giants in the color of lightning flashes... a blue/violet shade. And for cloud giants, I like the milky, almost transparent looking blue. YMMV

Early on Storm Giants were seen more as Sea (or Coastal) Giants - bringing storms from the ocean rather than standing atop mountains. Based loosely on one of the Titans of Greek Myth, I think, though my rusty thinking apparatus is having difficulty remembering which one. A ship wrecker, that one. :)

Umm, paint recipe... Good question. I really just tossed it together after researching what a cloud giant would look like. Yes, cloud giant. From what I can recall, I basecoated with Solid Blue (29816). I started mixing in various levels of Rosy Skin (09068) and Ashen Blue (09057) for a mid tone color (only using a tiny bit of Rosy Skin as it added a bit of warmth to an otherwise cool color). Using the same mid tone, I started adding in an increasing amount of Ghost White (09063) for highlights. Finally I used Pure White (09039) for the highest points of highlight.

That sounds about right. Does that help?

I wondered what that extra little something something was, and it's the Rosy Skin. Just a hint, as you said. I'm doing the same thing with a frost giant - all the colours get just a little hint of slate to tie them together and make them a touch cool.

Any Stormies I get are going green because I just got four whole pots of Partha "Storm Giant Green", lol.

Very nice, thanks! I love that the community here is so strong - it seems like a lot of professional painters either wouldn't have the time to give out tips in the forums, or just wouldn't have the desire to do so. I can't wait to get my paints and get started.

That's because "That Guy" isn't just professional, he's Tier 1.

I'm gonna need a bigger palette.

So far I was just getting paint sets one and three from the kickstarter. It only has the pure white out of your colors.

While I REALLY like the blues I originally was thinking of painting the Storm/Cloud Giants to look like giant humans, like Olympians or Asgardians. Picture the female painted up to look like Freya from Valkrie Profile and the male to look like Odin from Thor...

Did I miss something? Are the storm giants switched to cloud giants?

77162: Yehpima, Female Cloud Giant

As mentioned earlier, they stated that "Variety Giants" would have been a hard way to label that reward. The male of the pair is a storm giant, the female is a cloud giant.

Although labels are somewhat meaningless when you can paint them to be either or C.c

Looks like you'll be getting exactly one. Unless you buy more options and get the same one figure again and the Cloud Giant's twin sister.

Reaper's not the only company that makes Storm Giants I'll have to paint.

REPORTER: "Miss, could you please make a statement about your racial identity? Some viewers are doubting that you're actually a cloud giant."

THE GIANT (leaning down to talk into the microphone): "Yep, I'm a Female Cloud Giant."
