17 when you trade the T-shirt in as well. :)

MADNESS!!!!!

Seriously though, I've no doubt that we'll get enough different figures but I am expecting this to be more of a slow burner than a rampant frenzy. Addons like the base inserts and classic figure that are already in will help though.

Indeed, much like Red Box Games I expect this one to trundle along at a reasonable pace and then go a bit crazy at the end (as normal), but its off to a much bigger start so I expect a larger finish over all as well. Not the massive highs of the Cool Mini or Not or Bones projects, but certainly the Dwarven Adventurers total over $140ish thousand is achievable.

As more backers get on board there will be more excitement (and we are pretty exciteable already :))

Yes - these are the projections I'm seeing too. Bear in mind, we in the Bomb Lab are just as excited to get these models made as all of you, too. We all have our favorite concepts here we are rooting for to get funded so we can see them in production, too. So it's a nail-biter all around!

The latest:

$30,000 Reached with Betty & Shrapnel Achieved!

Target Acquired! We reached the goal to add Betty & Shrapnel as a choice for Babes rewards. As an additional perk, we will include a resin ammo dump marker in all BOMB KITS.

Something like the old Crimson Skies video game had in it would be awesome if the scale was right.

It was a tabletop miniatures games long before it was a video game, and rather a good one to, a bit like Battletech with the Hex Map and hit boxes but with having to plan movement well ahead and weapons caused damage in particular shapes so it was like a deadly form of Tetris, The miniature scale was nowhere near big enough though. I'm considering getting a 's Ork Bommer kits but that may look a bit too grungy for what I'd like.

While I've sworn off the 'gw', I think a Forge World Thunderbolt might look cool with her. I'm not sure I'm ready to pay Forge World prices to accessorize a $10 mini though. Even though it is an awesome $10 mini! That said, I guess she might look good standing next to my Forge World Marauder Destroyer bomber.

Yeah I avoided Forge World due to the prices but a Thunderbolt would go well. At least the Ork Bommer is in plastic now so not quite as painful a concept, the Valkyrie is as well but I think a plane is a better option... Maybe a late WWI Bi-plane as a base instead... hmm.....

Probably should focus on just getting Betty and Shrapnel first.

I think it's awesome that I had no idea that they were making a plastic ork plane. That means my avoidance tactic in regards to gw is working! I agree, a Valk would look too scifi to fit.... and I do love me some WWI planes!

I was focused on getting Betty, but I consider her "got" now. I may even tape off a little reserved area for her on my desk. Now I'm focused on getting Vivian Gale. She might look nice on the dock next to one of these fish shaped submersibles... I think the same company is working on a squid shaped submersible too that might be cool. I think the scale is different, but I bet it wouldn't matter if you couldn't see the... um... what ever you call the place in a sub where the driving is done.

That's one nice fish sub.

You could always do the Casablanca perspective trick and have Vivian up close with the sub further back with smaller figures by it to make them look the same scale, would only really work in photographs though.

If you're looking for retro-futuristic vehicles to pose Bombshells next to, have you seen some of the discontinued AT-43 stuff?

The "Karman" faction seems to have been one of the less-popular of the line (along with the Cogs, I'm guessing), hence it seems that these guys are relatively widely available in some quarters. The forces consist of a bunch of SPACE APES in armor (and occasionally bubble helmets), which isn't of much use, but their vehicles are some sort of anti-grav craft with a vaguely retro-futuristic look at times that makes me think a little of the anime series "Last Exile." (Just a little, anyway.)

Example of the Karman "Mammoth":

AT43KingMammoth.jpg

I'd envision some conversion would be required -- adding landing gear, removing the ape pilots, possibly replacing the big boxy clunky-looking weaponry -- but the basic vehicles might look decent enough to pose a retro-sci-fi pilot or mechanic next to. I think there might even be some room on there to paint some nose art.

Anyway, just a thought.
