JeffyBaby
Very nice. The highlights on the robes are a bit harsh. You might consider a few glazes of the mid tone to smooth them out a bit. I second the great choice in colors.
Lastman
Very nice looking snake. Those are my favorite colors.
evergrin
Colors of his clothing remind me of the monks in Tibet and Thailand, they suit nicely with the mini. His eyes look sharp and cool. The basing is simple and elegant. You did a great job!
cookjimjr
Very Nice. I might have to get this mini myself one of these days. I agree with everyone about the colors. They work well on the figure. I am not sure I agree that the highlights are too stark, but a smoother blend between them the mid tone and shadows would probably work. I like good sharp highlights, I just wish my photos showed them much at all. Great work, keep it up.
Adrift
Beautiful work and the color choices are spot on! For the highest highlights, they should just be faint touches to the uppermost portions of the cloth. Try transitioning 3-4 smooth layers up from your middle layer and then using your brightest highlight to just barely touch the highest level. Metalchaos
I agree with everyone, I like the autumnal colors that you've choose. I also like the sand, it looks very fine. Maybe a final black layer of paint on the base contour would make it even more clean.
Nocturne
Really nice colour choice for the robes, they go very well with the darker scales.
joshuaslater
This will pop on the table top. I totally disagree about the highlights being too much. I like models you'll be able to see when gaming, and this is ace.
Jen
Thanks for the feedback, all! Re: the highlights... Yeah, I would rather they'd come out a bit smoother, particularly on the yellow robe. However, when looking at it live, not in a close up photo, and at gaming distance (and with middle-aged person eyes...) the chunkiness is much less apparent. So, for the purpose this guy is going to serve, I invoked the Doctrine of Good Enough and went on to other things. I'm also finding that the lighter the highlight color is, the more trouble I have getting it to blend smoothly. That's something I'm still working on.
