Qwyksilver
The Auld Grump, nI wish the Sota toys 'Thulhu were still available, to show as a comparison.... In my opinion though that's a horrible version of Cthulu, I'd have been very dissapointed in a model that looked like that. I think it's mostly the 'hair' tentacles and feet. Agreed. If you want to pull a cool "toy" cthulhu, you have to go to the Horror Clix one. Now that is a nice cthulhu... That's why I will have one of each, and my plans of creating a WWE tag team to win the belts will finally come true! So what if they only win the belts with my little plastic wrestling ring
Shakandara
I support everyone's right not to like a given sculpt, and even be vocal about why they don't like it. It's not like I'm in love with everything Reaper produces (this model in particular really failed to live up to my expectations - sorry, Jason, I love ya man), but I also don't expect them to change something just because it isn't what I wanted. What makes far more sense to me, is looking at what to do with the figure to make it "better" for you. A number of people have offered helpful suggestions on modifying the model, ranging from some simple green-stuff slapping that I'm pretty sure just about anyone could manage, to full-on repositioning conversion. To me, that's productive conversation. ~v

The Inner Geek
I think it's worth us all remembering exactly how Lovecraft himself envisioned Cthulhu Everybody Poops I'm a big fan of the cephalopod in general. I've seen a lot of education shows about the octopus. I've seen a lot of them hunting and eating... but never pooping. I'm not even sure where an octopus would poop from.

Baphomet69
This is not an official response, however, I can tell you the following: The model ain't gonna change; time to build a bridge and get over it. ~v From my count the Big C has more supporters than trolls. That bridge is pretty much built AND big enough for the big guy himself to cross it. Cultists Fans or not, we'll all be consumed. Arguing at this point is pretty much just for sport. For the record, I haven't voiced my opinion until now, and it does look to me a bit like he's wearing a leather suit (possibly contributed to by the b/w photo), but there's still all kinds of awesome in this model. However, now, according to you, anyone that voices their disappointment with a sculpt is a troll? That's just sad, and I'll leave it at that... My understanding is as follows: If you don't like it, feel free to comment, but don't expect anything to change. As for me, I like it, but will closing that seam w/ greenstuff. Shakandara
To add the circular splotches, I suppose in raised form, could you make tiny balls of green stuff and smash then into the mini in the pattern desired? I'd go one step further and say make flattened ovals, let the GS harden, then slice them bilaterally. Now you get 2 bumps from every ball, and you just glue the dots on to the body. Make a bunch in different sizes, so you can make a pattern. ~v Edited October 25, 2012 by Shakandara

Shakandara
However, now, according to you, anyone that voices their disappointment with a sculpt is a troll? That's just sad, and I'll leave it at that... There were two very different things you quoted there. The first was my post that dispatchdave nicely surmised. Girot then stated that there seemed to be more supporters than trolls. I guess you could infer that he means people who are posting that C'thulhu needs to be changed are trolls, but that doesn't necessarily mean that not liking it (or voicing your opinion that you are disappointed in it) makes you a troll. YMMV, I guess. ~v
