From my count the Big C has more supporters than trolls. That bridge is pretty much built AND big enough for the big guy himself to cross it. Cultists Fans or not, we'll all be consumed. Arguing at this point is pretty much just for sport. ::D:

For the record, I haven't voiced my opinion until now, and it does look to me a bit like he's wearing a leather suit (possibly contributed to by the b/w photo), but there's still all kinds of awesome in this model.

However, now, according to you, anyone that voices their disappointment with a sculpt is a troll? That's just sad, and I'll leave it at that...

so your a troll then i presume :grr:

We're done with this tangent. Baphomet and Girot have already clarified their comments. No more name calling.

wasnt name calling just being a jokester. thats just who i am Bryan. ::P: . now back to your regularly scheduled chtulu programing

These boards seem to operate heavily on the "If you can't say something nice, say nothing at all" rule, and if you say something not nice it will tend to provoke a negative reaction. So, in a sense, expressing a negative opinion on these boards is akin to trolling.

I'd say that's a bit of an exaggeration, but there is some truth to it. I think the Reaper forums fall more along the lines of, "if you wouldn't say that to any of us in person, face-to-face, then don't say it here." And it's probably the reason the Reaper forums aren't like Frothers or TMP.

It's easy to dehumanize companies and the people that work for them when you have the internet as a buffer between you. Since so much of the Reaper community (users, staff, and artists) have at least met one another - and in many cases consider one another friends - the usual anonymity is removed, so we act more like we would if we were in one another's presence. That doesn't mean it's all sunshine and unicorns and rainbows; there's just more personal respect given.

This is, of course, a generalization. Not everyone behaves this way all the time (myself included), despite our best intentions. However, this most often rears its head in response to people behaving as they do one other forums, as opposed to how we've come to expect the from the community.

EDIT: And I see now that Bryan has already addressed this pretty well. RTFT fail to me.

I use my real name on most message boards and comment threads for exactly that reason. It helps me to remember to stay polite. ("A gentleman would never unintentionally offend anyone." I aspire to that.)

I was just raised well. ::P:

My grandpappy told me that if I ever found myself in a fight and had to punch a guy, to remember to call him 'sir' first. And then when he's had his fill of rowdy, to pick him up and buy him a beer.

you've finished that quote all wrong, it should be "And then when he's had his fill of rowdy, to pick his pockets then buy him a beer with his own cash"

it's the goblin way
