TheAuldGrump
I use a plastic container that used to hold sushi, a folded shammy, and a bit of cooking parchment. Works well enough, and came with some sushi in it! I wouldn't mind seeing what Reaper comes up with - I think that it could be really cool. Artists Wren Posted October 2, 2012 Artists Share Posted October 2, 2012 I've wondered if the Masterson wet palette doesn't seal to inhibit mould/bacteria growth? For those having growth or odors, try a penny or two under your sponge. It's worked pretty well for me so far.
sumbloke
I use a home-made wet pallette, using a blister pack from some minis, a mould-resistant sponge and baking paper.
JackMann
I use one I bought at the FLGS. It's nice, but it's pretty small. If I'm working with a large number of different paints, I pretty much have to switch to a dry palette.
CashWiley
I'm using a cheap tupperware knock-off with a cheap sponge and some parchment paper. Main issue is size, it's too small, so I tend to paint in sections and keep notes if I need to go back and recreate a color. I use it less for conserving paint for days and more for extending my open time (as I said before, I'm a slow painter).
Dan Goodchild
Based on the size of the lunchbox cases and the image of the foam insert I'm expecting the Reaper wet palette to be pretty small. Smaller than the PP palett if it's the one that my friend has. Reaper's looks like it's meant to be part of a travelling kit - which I'd like to have to supplement my larger one. Stubbdog
I use a tupperware bowl, some folded up paper towel, and the parchment paper. Works fine for me. And when I remember too, I can seal it up with the tupperware lid after. I even re-use the paper about 5-6 times before having to change out. just take it out for a minute, crack off the old paint and good to go. I like using the paper as many times as I can cause my only issue I have is the curling edges on new papers.
Reaperbryan
It's something we're working with Outrider on. No release on schedule at this time. In the meantime, if you buy his foam, the pallete is exactly the same size as our "XS/XD" blister - the one the dragons and giants, or Boned Great Worm are in. If you save that blister, it fits in that socket, then you can use a mold-resistant sponge (a chamois works well, too) and some parchment to fit. TheAuldGrump
So, kind of small then. :( Ah well, looks like sushi for me! :P The Auld Grump - a word of caution: Take The Sushi Out First!

Given the size of the kit, it's meant as a travel kit, for cons, painting at a friends house, etc. Small but large enough for tonight's model was the goal. Given the size of the kit, it's meant as a travel kit, for cons, painting at a friends house, etc. Small but large enough for tonight's model was the goal. Ayuh, so I gather. I was just hoping for something larger. (My travel paint kit weighs about twenty pounds... a few more ounces will not kill me. :P ) It just seems like everybody makes travel sized wet palettes, and few make full sized ones. The best I have had so far were the ones made from sushi containers and the ones made from sandwich sized plastic food containers. My first was just a plate, a shammy, some water and a bit of baking paper. The Auld Grump
CashWiley
+1 for a full sized kit. You have the technology. You can make it bigger, stronger, faster! Well, bigger anyway. Offer two sizes; travel size and home studio size. The sponge in my current palette is 4"x6", it's quite limiting.
Girot
I have two wet pallets. The first is huge and shallow and it dried out faster than my paints did. Eventually I ended up with the P3 wet pallet. So far it has served me well. EDIT: Oooh! I forgot to mention that using a wet pallet has REALLY helped with my blending and layering!
Orlando_the_Technicoloured
I'd concur with that The large size wet pallet I first tried was not much good so I gave up on them for ages My small homemade one I've recently started to use works much better (big ones have a far larger surface for evaporation so will never be as good as smaller ones, so if you really need lots of paint to say liquid you'd be as well to mix it in an old paint pot)
CashWiley
Good point. I'll just make another small one! :)
