Of the 20 kickstarter and indiegogo minis projects I'm waiting to deliver, these are the minis I want most (even more than my bones), now I'm bracing myself for disappointment.

Saying that, the pictures don't horrify me, I've seen far worse

Is Ed troll forged? That is who they refer to in their updates with regards to casting.

I have determined my only remedy is to ship them back and will be reimbursed postage and my pledge once the figures arrive. Wondering if only the water lord is dire beyond fixing and the rest are worth keeping.. I really want to like them.

I'm really surprised about this,

none of the other stuff Impact has shown unpainted (on line or to folk at cons), or painted look like that

and nobody who got the hydra also done by Ed at Trollforged reported any issues with it

(I've personally had minis in the trollforged material as part of the red box games KS which were all very crisp too)

so I'm not sure what's happened

Tom at Impact who was doing the packing has been very seriously ill and is still recovering from major surgery,

and while he was out of action his wife who is not a gamer/mini collector was doing some packing and shipping so I guess it's possible that stuff could have been sent from a 'rejects' pile ? (if you don't know what stuff is meant to look like it's hard to notice problems)

so really not sure what to think (but I really hope it is a fluke of some sort)

I find the reaction from Impact odd more than anything. Everything else I'd heard so far made me think the quality was pretty darn robust and all the pieces have looked really nice. But the reply from Impact makes it sound like the figures in your pictures are the level of quality we should expect. I'm surprised the reaction wasn't "sorry you got some ropey figures, we'll replace those ones". They've had a pretty rough last month or so though, so I wouldn't begrudge them some confused communication but I hope they can make things right. Is the quality generally okay on your other figures?

I've just had the shipping details requested for my own order, so will interested to see what I get. I'm pretty darn amateur so don't mind too much about the quality, but I really loved this project and hope the figures meet my expectations. I liked the art so much I even commissioned a few things from the artist which I've never done before!

Impact just posted a general KS update which I think points towards the images above being an aberration, the bit in question being this

'I sold almost $3k worth of Chibi at Adepticon in Chicago in March to live people seeing them in hand and not one of them was anything more than happy with the figures'

(Edit: Impact asked their backers if they could do this, for the general financial health of the company and the backers overwhelmingly said they could sell excess minis of the ones they had in hand. I'm adding this note just so non-backers don't thing Impact 'betrayed' the KS backers, we were asked, and as a group were were happy to let them do so)

for the figures to sell this well at a busy convention where there is more than enough competition if there were major issues it would have shown up there

that's not to say you won't need to clean the pieces up as you do get 'resin type' flash with trollcast but I just can't see what Jubilee got (which are clearly ropey) being representative : I also don't find the response Jubilee got typical of the high quality service I've seen from Impact so it's either crossed wires, or catching them at just the wrong time)

It seems there is some confusion between Tom @ Impact and myself regarding the expected quality of resin and the pieces that I received. I have received a refund, but I quite frankly really just wanted some nice models, so hopefully we can come to some kind of agreement.

I would like to see some bare resin shots of the same models other people have received to see if mine are anomalies. Maybe my expectations of what's a reasonable about of work to prep something like this for painting is way too high. I will hopefully be meeting up with Meg and Marike tonight and they can give me their perspectives.

Customer service is INCREDIBLY important to me.

Jubliee's email to me stated that the entire order she received was horrible and unsalvagable.

So faced with a customer like Jubliee who I knew was an experienced and respected Reaper painter. I apologized and offered two things:

1) I offered to replace all the figures if she wanted to see another set (however since her email was so strong on her not liking a single figure in her entire order ... I did say I assumed that a new set might not met her expectations either because I assume if someone like her uses the words horrible and unsalvagable that I need to be offering a full refund to be providing the best customer service I can).

2) I offered her a full refund.

I really do want to do right by Jubilee as I don't want her or any of our customers/backers to have a negative experience with any of our products

This line of miniatures are not a poor product ... I really do stand by that. And the painted versions we are getting from our painters are not showing bad quality either. I care about quality of our line and believe this is a fun line of figures and we are seeing some great stuff come from our painters on them.

I have a lot more painted images but I don't want to overload the thread. The final image shown painted is one of the minis shown in Jubliee's pictures as part of her order.

I am truely and honestly sorry that we've upset Jubliee so much with the figures she received and am trying to fix it.

I think you should be taking all of this up with her, and not trying to make Jubilee look like the bad guy because you did 'everything you could' to try and please her. You gave her bad models (it doesn't matter how many free ones you gave her in the past) fix that problem and move on.

I received my minis on Friday and took a few hours cleaning off the flash. Please be careful when liberating your minis from the sprues, some are very brittle, I broke a few that I will be reglueing (my fault, not impacts). I did see a few bubbles, rough spots and some pieces that won't fit together properly without a lot of filing and sanding but I am overall satisfied with my order. I will say this, wash and prime these minis prior to painting, they don't take paint well straight out of the package. I did not receive any as bad as your second picture on your external link, but the others looked about average as to what I received and I was able to clean them up with snippers and a file. Attached is a rough WIP of my centaur. Or no WIPs since I have to host it elsewhere and can't upload direct. Le sigh.

I placed a very large order of these so hopefully will find them satisfactory. I am a bit surprised though, I ordered the Hydra, and while it had a few minor bubbles near the vents, I didn't have nearly the issues you seem to have had. Some of those look like they have big printing issues. I will note my Hydra had what I consider more than normal flash, HOWEVER, I found that it cleaned far easier than any other miniatures I have ever gotten.
