Ah, sorry. Never watched more than a few minutes of the cartoon back in the day. It was a sore point and source of irritation with a lot of AD&D players when it made its first appearance.

Well, it was goofy and infantile and totally unlike D&D. It was trying to sell D&D to kids too young to play D&D.

But in retrospect it wasn't worse than, say, Scooby-Doo and it had a certain camp appeal.

Although I wished to roast and eat that squawling unicorn. I can still hear its squeaky moaning voice.

I'll bite when they unveil a chibi Warduke.

They havn't got the proper artwork ready yet as the projects moved a little faster than they were expecting.

Oh yeah, that's what I'm talking about.

I still have my Warduke action figure from LNJ Toys sitting in his original packaging ("EVIL WARRIOR WARDUKE"). He inhabits a place of honor, overlooking our gaming table. And my Dungeon Magazine t-shirt with Warduke on it.

Loves me some Warduke.

I'm holding out to see how many stretch goals they get to and/or if they get hit with the legal hammer... But I may very well throw some money at this one.

Also, you can probably find most of the episodes on Youtube... Plus, the box set isn't exactly expensive and contains a ton of bonus material - including a radio-style voice-over show of the final unaired episode, 3.5 Ed. stats for all the characters and gear, and a short encounter set-up that's a prelude to the Dragon's Graveyard episode of the series.

You didn't pick up the D&D miniatures Warduke from the Wardrums set a few years ago?

No, I missed that -- I never paid much attention to the D&D minis because, you know, they suck. But if they did Warduke, I'll have to see if I can find him, maybe fix the inevitably crappy paint job.

ETA: Just found him on Troll & Toad, pretty awesome for a D&D mini. Reminds me a bit of some of Tre Manor's sculpts. I ordered him up since he was only $7, way less than I was expecting.

So, he's now added "Sweet Spot" reward tiers.

Warrior level ($100): This gets you 14 Type 1 minis, 1 of the 7 piece dice sets, 1 t-shirt, and 1 of every single Type II creature that gets unlocked

Champion level ($150): This gets you every single Type 1 mini, both sets of 7 piece dice sets, 1 t-shirt, 1 set of dungeon tiles, and 6 pewter treasure chests

You don't even know me, why do you hate my wallet? :;):

Now I have to go see how much isn't exactly expensive is.

I've still got all my D&D toys, including Tiamat, and the solid rubber monsters, I did have the castle thing but that fell to ruin years ago.

I wish I did! I used to have quite a few of the toys. I also had Tiamat... man that was cool. My favorite was a dude on a dragon, though I can't recall his name (the guy or the dragon). Unfortunately, when BADD went on their rant my mom threw away all my "evil" toys. Even my freaking Godzilla toy! It's been well over 30 years and I've let it go... mostly.

There is no forgiving such abuses! You might move on, but toys being thrown out by clueless parents is one of the driving forces behind DMs/GMs. We channel our repressed/suppressed emotions into the killing, er... creative design of ingenious death traps, with which we challenge our players.
