New greens to show! The male junker and female waster are here. I didn't like her concept art, but now I love the model.

I really love what Bob Ridolfi and Julie Guthrie are doing with the concepts. I was expecting they'd come up with some great sculpts, but these greens are still better than I was expecting! I'm getting the "x10" Gang Leader deal, and out of the unlocked stretch goals so far, the female Waster wasn't high up on my list of choices. After seeing the green, I'm reconsidering that. :) The teddy bear adds character!

Looking back, I really do think it would have been a smart idea to try and get a few greens done before the start of the KS. On the Something Awful forums, a lot of people were turned off by the concept art, since it's very stylized, and doesn't give a good idea of what the finished minis would look like (and I say this as someone who likes Cheyenne's artwork). The greens show what kind of minis people can expect from the KS.

Totally agree. I've heard the reasons, excuses really, and I still don't understand why so many mini kickstarters are so ill prepared.

For a lot it may come down to money.

The company may have spent all it's cash getting decent concept art made (especially where it can do double duty in a set of skirmish rules) especially where they are genuine startups

a sculptor needs to be paid and unless you have funds or one of the KS organisers of a friend sculpts that may not be possible

Once the KS is running (and either funds or looks set to fund) a sculptor (especially an up and coming one) may be prepared to get paid later after the KS money comes in, hence greens turning up part way through projects

that siad, having greens (good ones) will help get the more sceptical to pledge

Hey gang, as we wind down to the last 24 hours, I want to say thanks for all the support and especially the feedback! You guys have really been a great resource, and we do appreciate it.

Now, as far as having greens goes, it is money, pure and simple. The whole point of the Kickstarter is to fund production of the minis, including the costs to sculpt them. Studio 2 committed to the first four and had them in the works, but as far as the rest, who knew what would happen. Spending the money you are trying to raise to raise the money you need for expenses is a dangerous circle, and one that puts existing backers at risk for getting their rewards if the money isn't there in the end. That's just not an option.

So as things have progressed and goals have become attainable, S2 has contacted Reaper about getting the greens, and they have done an outstanding job! The idea of getting this kind of turnaround on greens is phenomenal to begin with, and when you take into consideration the work Reaper already has on its plate, it's simply unfathomable. I can't speak highly enough of these folks and we're honored to be able to work with them.

And the same applies to you guys. Again, the feedback has been awesome, and those post-apocalyptic weapon Bonus Goals? That really came from you guys to make sure we had something specifically for the minis fans and not just Hell On Earth fans.

Thanks once more, and we're keeping our fingers crossed to still hit the Mutants, Librarian, and Templar! Given the boost we've seen here at the end, it's still possible (especially with one Leader of the Iron Alliance available).

the warbands and templar grandmaster levels are really a fantastic deal! thanks for the book pdfs!

Glad you like them!

For those who saw the last two greens (male Junker and female Waster), they were sculpted by Bob Ridolfi as well. He really did an amazing job on them if you haven't seen them!

I am trying to increase my pledge, but it continues to error out. I will be away from access soon, is there a way to add $27 after the fact? It is a really poor time for Amazon Payments to quit working...

Amazon payment is working again, so if you tried earlier, give it another shot.

Talked to Studio 2 and they will work something out with folks who missed the chance to pledge because of this. Wish Kickstarter had an extension policy when they have issues like this, but you live and learn.

Whoa. I was just watching the ending of the Kickstarter, as it was just $25 shy of $50,000 (to unlock the next goal) ... and then -- boom! 2 seconds to spare, and someone boosts a pledge by $25. That was cutting it *CLOSE*.

Now I'm anxious to find out what sort of character someone wanted for that Leader of the Iron Alliance pledge. If it's an archetype I could use, I might just consider it for one of my Gang Leader stretch goal figure choices. :D So far I'm settled upon ...

* Waster #1: It's the teddy bear!

* Junker #2: Love that steam-punky look.

* Toxic Shaman #2: The "spook juice" bandolier is a nice touch.

* Law Dog #1: Based on one of the more iconic HoE interior illustrations, I think, and very nicely captures the "Wasted West" look.

* Law Dog #2: Hmm. He'd work nicely for my zombie-apocalypse campaign, up against the Walkin' Dead. ;)

* Librarian #1: Bookish heroine with a sword. Cool!

* Templar #2: Also based on an iconic HoE interior illustration I recognize from the old books. (Post-apoc warrior with a clerical collar.)

* Iron Alliance #1 -- Witch: Something crazy is going on with that torso, but there's something cool about that "power gauntlet" look and the "doom bolt" effect brewing there. I think it would be fun to paint up, and I trust Bob Ridolfi or Julie Guthrie to make the pose work out.

* Iron Alliance #2 -- Hoodie Ronin: I wish I could get this guy RIGHT NOW for my current zombie-apocalypse campaign.

Nothing against the other figures -- I'm sure they'll all look great! -- but I have to prioritize at my pledge level. A couple of the others look like something I'm already getting with Chronoscope, while the rest represent archetypes that would be easy to proxy or kitbash (i.e., for Psykers, you just need somebody BALD, and for Doomsayers, you just need crazy folks in robes).

For #10 ... I'll see what Iron Alliance #3 turns out to be. If all else fails, I could get another weapons pack. :D

Woot everything unlocked!

Woot Studio2 fixing Amazon's fail!

Ok my 10 picks:

1) Female Toxic Shaman: generic for genre but distinct in look

2) Male Toxic Shaman: generic for genre but distinct in look

3) Female Waster: yay teddy

4) Female Psyker: generic for genre but distinct in look

5) Male Psyker: generic for genre but distinct in look

6) Female Librarian: partner for the male in he base 4

7) Female Doomsayer: generic for genre but distinct in look & also minion of the Doombringer bonus goal

8) Male Doomsayer: generic for genre but distinct in look & also minion of the Doombringer bonus goal

9) Iron Alliance 1 or Female Law Dog: if I don't like or see a green for IA1 it will be the law dog.

10) Iron Alliance 3 or Male Templar: same situation as (9) but likely more dependant on the concept for IA3.

Chronobones will give me a suitable male Law Dog and a few other appropriate models so I'm less worried about those sorts of generic "Western" style characters. Also the Serenity crew from Sedition Wars and a couple of the Bombshell Babes will work fine with this game.

Heh. I didn't even think about Sedition Wars. I forgot that thanks to that, I'll be getting yet ANOTHER "wrench girl" (this one with a mini-teddy-bear, even!): the suit pilot. :)
