Is it me or is DHL kinda the forgotten child...

It's always nice when a goblin lives long enough to have nostalgia.

If you make it to Ten, you're an Honored Elder.

Wait a second, goblins can't count, how do you know you've made it to ten? What comes after 8?

Halber

Duh, Q comes after 8. Stoopid hoomans! It goes Won, Goat, 4, Thimble, E, Splyx, 8, Q, iii, and Ten.

And that makes me Snogleventy years old, if you use the Old Snot Math, and Wormteen if you use the New Slime Calculus.

Sanael, I checked the couple of threads where I knew the change was talked about, and I could find nothing from anyone at Reaper saying they were definitely going to be released, in Bones or otherwise. Now, if you want to be completely logical about it, a) Reaper has already paid for the concept art for them, b) the sculpt already (at least partially) exists. As long as the sculpting is up to snuff (and there is little reason to think it won't be - these were replaced not because Reaper was unhappy with the results, but because they were beyond the deadline), it would seem pretty crazy for Reaper not to purchase the sculpts and put them in to production, be it as DHL or Bones. I think it is really more of a question of that, and how soon, rather than if. Of course, this is purely speculation on my part.

I thought sandwich came after 8.

I'm an old Partha fan, too...though maybe not as fanatic as the wee tangerine folk. Walking into a hobby shop that had a small spinner rack of Parthas and seeing Tom Meier's sculpts hooked me. Then another kid saw me looking at minis and asked where I played d&d. I didn't, so he invited me to his group. When I moved out to the country the next year, I found a bunch of kids that played d&d, one of whom was a fellow artist. In 9th grade art class with that kid (my best friend by then), a student teacher asked us to come up with project ideas. We successfully submitted 'board game' (and made an awesome tile-based Indiana Jones game with encounter and loot tables) and 'album cover'. When we were doing the backs of our album covers, he joked he would be the singer of our fake band and I would be the guitarist. That summer I bought a guitar and years later we were a professional band on the west coast.

I was a pro musician thanks to Tom Meier. :upside:

edit - and for a while I was handling bass duties, my bass got stolen. A friend loaned me his Ricky bass, and I still want one to this day. So I kinda get Matt's obsession, though I prefer my Gibson SG 61 re-issue for electric guitar duties.

What was this thread about again?

As we've seen with the KS minis, a couple of sculpts have had to be substituted due to deadline constraints and sculptors having two key limits; time and 2 hands. Though Julie Guthrie's minis always make me think she must be hiding an extra pair of arms to somehow work magic.

Has there been any mention of bringing Bones-only sculpts to metal?

I could see that..you are still quite the metal minis addict I'm sure. I've recently come to the conclusion that my metal minis are much harder on my brushes than my Bones minis by comparison. No actual data, just my own anecdotal perception. The sculpt I'm currently painting seems to be REALLY harsh on brushes.

If we were to bring the sculpts that are at this time exclusive to Bones into DHL, it would not occur until after those same sculpts were available in Bones - ie. after Vampier has shipped to backers, retailers, and distributors. Because that is still 5 months away, no concrete times or even definite yes/no's have been announced.

Sir Bryan? For that phenomenal Cloud Giantess I'm prepared to be extremely patient. And if the answer should ultimately be "no", then can I still get one if I pay for the mold production costs? Because I just might. I mean, it's pure love, man. You just can't stand in the way of pure love. 80's movies taught me that, among other wisdoms, and by god I live my goblin life by those lessons!

Now if you'll excuse me, it's time for my daily 5-minute exercise montage.

Julie just borrows Bob's hands when she needs another one.

even those sculpts that were late and replaced for the vampire backers are eventually happening

Do you have a source for that? i.e. a statement from Reaper staff.

I'd be happy if it's true, but I've seen no indication of it.

At this point, if we finish the sculptures they will probably be released in metal and it will be some time before they get made into Bones. We really just couldn't wait any longer or we would never meet our goal of next March. Sorry.
