Ok it seems in the last hour we just hit another stretch goal and the Fiend has been unlocked! We also unlocked package deals for bases. If you have a Queen level pledge, you can get a full set of decretive bases (114 bases if we hit all the goals) for $35!!! There are deals for all the major pledge levels, check it out for yourself.

Next up at $27000 is the Swarm Adult Warrior.

In addition to the Swarm Adult Warrior we will get more arm choices for the Dreadnaught.

Ed says he should have the Overlord art and possibly art for the spiderlike Drone tank up after lunch!

I'm not as fussed with things like the swarm master and swarm adults which have very clear alien weapons, but I really like the wholly alien creatures like the grubs, hosts, queen and the fiend,

I've been in at the Swarm level right from the start but I'll need to sit down this weekend and have a proper play around with my pledge to figure out what I want. The thing that has put me off organising my pledge properly before now is the changing prices of items. Cheaper is obviously much better but I'd still like a set number so I know what I'm getting.

Personally I will probably never find a use for the swarm adult as everything I do is Fantasy, but I don't mind the master. I like the whip and the claws on him. The steath warriors are pretty neat too.

It all depends on use for me. I envision a dark ghost town taken over by the foul concoctions of a deranged magician who experimented on some poor creature and has birthed a race that is completely beyond his control. I am going to use these as a two part adventure for my group and see how it works out. If they like it, much later they can return to fight the Overlord.

Inspired by this Kickstarter, I decided to make my own 40mm base of eggs for my own use. And yes, I am NOT a sculptor by any means, this is the first real thing I sculpted besides filling gaps etc. I started this before I saw Ed's egg, so its simpler and completely different. Im going to try to cast it so I can have a whole room of eggs and use Ed's large egg (which is way cooler than mine) as a queen egg and objective. (sorry for bad tablet pics)

Thanks for reminding me dispatchdave, I think I have some Hydrocal dental plaster around here somewhere from my Hirstarts molds.

Recruittons, I wasn't planing to sell anything, this was just for my personal use. I didn't want to step on Ed's toes, especially if he is going to be making eggs, thats why I posted the pics here and not on his kickstarter. Once the Kickstarter is over, and if he doesn't make any egg bases, I might do something. Is a master just like one of the first casts in resin or is it the green or made of something else? Excuse my mold-making ignorance lol.

Generally, you make several casts from your original, clean them up so they are (near) perfect. Then you use those to make new molds when the old ones wear out. I'm somewhat interested as well, but wouldn't necessarily need a master-quality cast. I'm laissez-faire like that.

Make your mould

Then the first (few) casts you make (if you use resin, plaster would probably be to fragile for a master) can be used as a master to make more moulds (you can probably reuse the greenstuff one for a hand made mould, but if your doing vulcanised rubber for professional casting not so much

As you reuse the mould it will get less and less good so if you'e doing a lot it's worth making the master so you can (repeatedly) replace it)

casting in resin is tougher on the moulds than plaster, so if you plan to do them this was a master is certainly recomended

POP would not stand up, but most dental plasters (Hydrocal, Merlin's Magic, Excalibur, etc) should hold up to make a few molds. I know I've made several copies of Bruce Hirst's bricks (the masters were Excalibur plaster, RTV rubber, specifically MoldMax 30).

If you are casting resin make sure to use a mold release agent (check out Smooth-On for tips, supplies). While it won't completely preserve the mold, your mold will last longer.
