Another great WIP shot of the wyrm! He's moved the mandibles forward to better match the art, and included more detail on the head. He's shaping up nicely!

I'd like to see the neck part a little wider and some of the tentacles straightened out a bit. I wonder if it will be possible to straighten them with heat? hmmmm...

And yes, another version of the Swarm Master appears! This one was edited into existence by backer Philip Sibbering. It definitely screams alien! Now to decide if I want to sacrifice 20 of my 25mm bases for another one of these, or will 1 master be enough...

I am having soooo much fun planning an adventure path for this set of minis. Everytime I see more of the art, I start getting more ideas. I added in for 2 sets of the eggs, though I imagine I will need more before its is all over and done with. I am going to be putting together a whole village for this to take place in and my new Hirst Arts molds just arrived. I can't wait to get started!

I want to use this stuff for fantasy as well, but those dreadnoughts have made me think about running an action heavy scenario (perhaps Savage Worlds) where the PC's are inhabitants of an isolated mining colony on some forlorn planet, moon or asteroid. When the colony is overrun by aliens, what choice is there but to suit up in the heavy duty work equipment on hand and give them hell?

That sounds fun as well. I have a couple of ideas on how to use these minis. I think my adventure path for pathfinder will have them come to the town at least twice. The last time they will face the drones carrying many of the smaller minis and the Overlord.

 

I will also be working with the "Computer" to work these into a Paranoia campaign I play in. I don't know what exactly he will use them for, but I am sure it will be good. I think we are going to start using the hunter minis as PC for Paranoia as well. We are looking at the possibilities and just keep coming up with new ideas.

 

I think quite a few people will be adopting these as proxy models for their Warhammer 10k Tyrannid armies as well. I could see using these Wyrms as proxies for Warlord Wyrms too.

 

The possibilities are truly endless for this set.

The computer was never programed to cope with aliens, so for the computer they do not exist,

 

all the computer knows is that citizens are vanishing (escape, treason, whatever it is the computer wants it to stop)

 

and there seem to be strange holes in the walls, floor and roof, just appearing for no reason

 

The troubleshooters must solve the mystery without mentioning aliens, or letting on that they can see them (otherwise the computer might think they were going mad)...

 

Maybe one or more of the holes might lead to the surface, or somewhere else the computer might not want to go....

 

Not to mention one of the High Programers who might want a specimin or two

Been looking through the $36K version of Swarm trying to decide what I'd chop out for trade if we get there:

 

15 grubs $15

5 adult swarm $10

3 hound $9

1 flyer $6

6 lava swarm $30

 

$70

 

That'd get me my Drone, Overlord and puts me $5 away from some eggs. Tempted to get rid of the warriors too since they just feel a bit weird with their guns.

You could drop 1 larva swarm, since Swarm level gets 6, and that's $5 right there!
