Delayed Assimilation Alien Host... Yep another Kickstarter...

Now I've got more of a sense of the size, I'd quite like the Wyrm. With a $15 pledge already I figure I might as well up to host than go in for $35. You get plenty more and I'm sure we'll do $6K in a week.

No doubt. We're hitting around 1,000 a day with this thing, with some days more some less. Then we have the final 24 hour explosion to look forward to.

Dang it. I've been in it from the beginning for the bases. Now, I'm thinking I need to pick up a few of these sculpts (especially the hounds) for some Far Realms nightmares for my players! Far Realms invasion FTW!

 

I'm in the exact same situation. At first I looked at the aliens and thought they weren't for me, even though the bases were nice. But as the Kickstarter has gone on the aliens have kind of grown on me. They're a particular kind of body-horror, a high-octane nightmare fuel that can be very useful in games, and definitely a change from the sort of monsters I've been dealing with.

New concept art in! This one is for the Swarm Master, a $10 add-on that is unlocked at 36k (1 free to Queen backers). He is the tactical controller of the swarm adults on the battlefield and will be about the size of the queen (in height)

Looking great! I can't believe the speed of Ed's updates recently. More sculpting up again!

 

This thing looks wicked. Not my favorite but I think it will grow on me quick. There is still one more HUGE sculpt coming down the line. The Overlord will be the alien version of Cthulhu and promises to be the best piece in the line. Hopefully we will see some concept for it very soon!

I'll admit, the swarm master might be the first mini in the entire set that I skip, but that's actually a good thing, since it means I have room for a second dreadnought!

Swarm master picture was revised, he now has a whip growing out of his arm and looks much better. I invisioned him pointing a insectoid staff with a ring of talons around the end, directing his troops, but Im liking the whip more I think. Mine will be dripping with venom.

I think he said he had to shrink Cthulhu down so it would fit on a 120mm base! Dang that must have been huge!

I don't know, with all the add ons Im getting, it might be better to go double host level and use the second host to sub-out the add ons I want, rather then going single host level with add ons.... I will have to figure that out.

Yea his original Cthulhu sculpt looked to be 10 inches tall. The one he is working on for this campaign will likely be 6-8 inches tall and have a HUGE wingspan.

 

The original concept I saw for it looks awesome. I know they have been revising the hell out of it too. I can't wait to see the updated art.

 

 

On a side note the Swarm Master with the whip looks much better. I really like the idea and he is still going to add a bit more to the mini.

That looks an awful like the original sculpt minus the wings. I bet that is it... The angle on that photo is horribad! But yes. If you look at the video you get the full effect.

He starts showing Cthulhu around 4:45 and if you keep watching he shows it with the wings as well. That thing is massive and amazing!
