I'm sorry this is why people make fun of gamers.

Becuase if this was a NFL themed ring, it would be more acceptable. This and nothing else.

Sorry, but NFL geeks are no worse than me, they just have more money behind their passion than I do.

Average Joe has his pro or collegiate team, and a passion for Coach X. Me, I have Star Trek and Captain Kirk. Same. Thing.

'nuff siad

From the comments about Liberace and "this is why people make fun of gamers" I was imagining some sort of d100 set up in a snow-globe of a ring. But this is actually quite low-key. I'm pretty certain that if anyone realizes what your ring is, they'd be another gamer. And people who simply realize what it does will think it's a neat toy.

Also, the video made me laugh. Absolutely putting this on Remind Me while I figure out if my self-ban on Kickstarter applies.

I not criticizing anyone who actually digs this thing (it not for me, though), I was talking about the general stereotype. Hey, I'm former gamer and my wife still refers to as the king of the nerds, who paints little metal and resin figures. As far as Reaperbryan's comment about football fans and their [email protected] , I mean merchandise, I hate American football!

Oh gee, I just spotted this and was coming over to alert folks.

It looks pretty fun. I'd have to double-check ring sizes, of course.

And phoo, I don't care about the stereotype of gamers. I'm a woman and I've gamed and been into geek culture all my life and early on it was scoffed at and lately it's been fashionable. I'm bored by American football -- by most spectator sports, actually -- but I'm lucky enough to be married to a fella who shares my interests and sense of humor and we have kids who are bright and unafraid to be geeky themselves.

These rings don't strike me as over the top, unless maybe someone uses one as a wedding ring. For ring designs, they're quite restrained.
