I got the other 3 ISU-122's hulls dipped and the first one's tracks tomorrow it should be dry enough for decals.

But then..DA BONES ARRIVED!

Inventory is going well.

First Things First I wanted to see was if Nethyrmaul was the right size to proxy as ArchAngel for my Legion Army...and yes it should work great.
here he is side by side with my Circles WoldWrath..tho taller, its mostly due to the rock he's standing on..overall the integrated rockbase fits perfectly on a 120mm base..

and heres Cthulhu, if Minons ever got a Gargantuan..i'd proxy Chthulhu in a heartbeat.

Cthulhul+and+WoldWrath.jpg

and got all the bagged addons assembled with just wings and cloaks dry fitted for now.

now I gotta go thru the vampire box and make sure I didn't miss anything..so far everything else looks great.

During the great Bones inventory I dipped the tracks of the first ISU-122 and the hulls of the other 3.
Since the first one is completely dry I figured I'd attempt to put some decals on it and see how it goes.
they went on ok I'm not sure if I need to buy a bottle of Decal medium (softener) or if gloss coating over it when it dries before dullcoting will suffice...will find out tomorrow.
Heres a pic of the company so far now..minus Gun barrels which are gonna be done after

Nethy would make a pretty good proxy for the Archangel, yes. As for Cthulu, even though I have the actual model, if I ever field a force large enough to use the FA:2 on the Legion's battle engine, Cthulu is totally proxying in for the second one!

Sorry I've been quiet in this thread of late; the more historical stuff doesn't get my blood pumping so much. I will say, nice paint on all of it. Your infantry units are pretty impressive!

ya I definately want to try and get them all into game as much as I can..and wel,l build a few Warlord forces up and try and get some guys at the club to try it as well :-)

Kaladrax will probably just be decorative...tho I just noticed your new avatar pic You totally got Kaladrax rocking as a familiar..I knew he'd be perfect for that! LOL

and its all good ..I can tell the Flames of War stuff isnt the kind of stuff that really inspires here :-)..tho speedpainting it all this far,I feel compelled to finished it. its the kind of thing I want to paint before basing and since the league was the last 3 months..just had to knuckle down and go at it.. I got like 8 more bases of pure infantry left then the box is done.. I might just keep at it ..I got a feeling once I tag out to the bones I won't be back to paint ww2 stuff for a long time :)

I think you're doing a great job on the FoW stuff, but its just not a part of the hobby I'm interested in. WamaHordes has always interested me, but I've always managed to pass on the models, mostly because of my RP focus. However lately I've been thinking more and more about skirmish level games and so WarmaHordes is of interest again.

(There is also a trend of "developing painter = lots of comments" "quality tabletop painter = few comments" "display painter = lots of comments", you've moved into "quality tabletop painter".)

thats very true OC ,sorry if that came across like I was disappointed or something.it wasn't what I ment. I find FOW's stuff is more about function then form.

..and ya SW, a clone army of this scale, its all very generic by its nature which doesn't lead to much to say about it :)...even by me other then team # 44 completed! hehe

I am going to attempt some weathering pigments this morning and post pics of the assault gun with just the pigment on it..then after a light gloss cote..the dull cote seem to just dissolve it last time.

Hopefully It will be more successful. I have read a couple sporadic comments that testors lacquer based cote was having the same effect..which I'm hoping isn't the root problem since its my go to product for sealing..I'd hate to have to buy another another brand just to test

after that was all dried up I weathered the first one up. this is what it looks like pre glosscote

I really like the effect its secret weapons yellow earth. I applied a light testor's glosscote to it and just need to let it dry to see how it does.
I did hear in a tutorial video that when you seal it does dull down..so I might just need to be more aggressive with it pre dullcoting them to compensate.
