02943, Festering Spirit

Recommended Posts

Here is my Festering Spirit 02943 by Jason Wiebe with is custom made Flail of Pestilence.

His weapon was build using; the chains P14472D from Razig Weapons Pack,

the handle is the wooden post included in the Dark Maiden sprue P14106C,

the cranium is from the skulls pack P02611A and

the poisoned blades are daggers from the 02871 Wererats.

For the base, I crafted mushrooms and worms using green stuff and

added some synthetic grass, lichen and painted birch tree seed shells.

The gravestone comes from the Grave Wraith tombstones sprue 03274b.

Yep, that flail is still totally awesome.

And thanks for bringing this mini to my attention. I am in need of an ogre zombie, and he looks like he'll fit the bill perfectly.

I commented in the diorama thread, but I'll say it's nice to have a big pic of this model. Great painting and converting.

Oh yeah. People playing Warlord will see this as a great Necropolis model, and it's pretty Nurgley too, for those into GW games.

Dig.

I did this one a while ago. My first attempt to recreate the painted version on the packaging. I'm just missing the foliage. This was super fun! :D

Inspired by the weekend question, I took some pictures of the army thus far and found that posting it in the question thread would be excessive, also that I didn't have an ongoing thread for my largest painted army so here it is. The plan is to get my Shelf of Incompleteion cleared off then work on reinforcements for this alongside my Old School Undead army.

Here we have the Pumpkin construct unit led by a Storybook Witch from Old Glory. I have 3 more of her, but the bag only came with the one flight stand and the Reaper ones I have don't fit, when I get around that, they'll form their own unit. Behind her is Rotpatch, and the scarecrow is hanging out with these guys until I can get a couple more. The constructs are filling the slot of core infantry.

Here is a Ral Partha Witch leading the Pumpkin Knight heavy infantry consisting of the Halloween Knight and converted Barrow Wardens.

Willow Greenivy leading the skeletal Pumpkin Guard. 10 newer GW skeletions and a variety of Reaper Bones.

Elise with the Pumpkin Chucker and some Bones skeletal archers providing ranged support.

A female Necromancer and the Etherial Legion of ghosts and wraiths.

An Iconic Witch, Pumpkin Spider, and friends.

A converted Brettonian Sorceress with the skeletal heavy infantry. Basically, what happens when adventurers irritate the witches.

      Bats, wolves, and allied vampires.

      Another vampire and werewolf allies.

Zombies, ghouls, and another Reaper Witch.

Beastmen and hell hounds with an infernalist witch.

Presenting the Rotten Mummy, as the name suggests he's a Mummy that's going rotten, and he's part of the Egyptian faction for the game Twisted by Demented Games.

It's a really fun to paint mini that is annoying hard to photograph, but I think I did a decent job on him.

As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.

For my Shifting Sands Project I wanted a Casket of Souls / Altar of the Damned.

I scratchbuilt the altar from foam with the help of a Greenstuffworld rollerpin I gave it an Egyptian look.

The bones/skulls are from the Greenstuffworld Crunchplates

      Then I added:

I couldn't come up with a scheme I liked for this guy, then me and friend were talking about tv shows we used to watch,  and she said Gargoyles and it just sorta clicked. Kinda simple but I think it turned out ok.
