(Ahem) Gentlemen, i suspect you are aproaching some form of referential event horizon here.

This thread is getting heavy.

You keep using that word. Is there a problem with gravity in the Future?

(Considers)

That depends. How far were you planning to go, exactly?

Where we're going we won't need eyes to see.

This thread is now at NerdCon Five!

It's actually gone so far that when somebody posts something I don't recognize, I can't tell if it's a reference or not. That means this thread has formed a self-referential self-referring self-reference vortex!

And we all know what that means.

Yes.

Lame gags based on in-jokes, rehashed hackneyed material, and several lackluster sequels.

What whine? I thought my observation was axiomatic among nerds. That's the joke.

No? Doesn't work?

Well, they can't all be gems. I'll write this one down in my deficit ledger.

(Also I kind of got distracted and forgot where I was going with it)

ETA: I forget that I am relatively new to this board, but that my sense of humour carries over from a previous board, so I should probably add the universal disclaimer that: "If you are ever in any doubt whether I'm being serious, assume I'm not". Sometimes it can get a little dry and not always be clear that I'm being foolish, so it's safer to assume I am (very likely to be right).

This is most crucial when it appears I'm being smug or arrogant, because that's actually me making fun of being smug and arrogant (or trying to), and that's a carryover. But previously that was more obvious, so I sometimes forget that people here don't know that and that I may sometimes come off as a boor. Sorry, that's my bad.

That still doesn't help me figure out where I was going with that joke, but I like to think it would have been very funny. A real contender. Instead it's just lying there, half-baked, mocking me with its gross inadequacy.

Does it help if you read the post in the voice of Comic Book Guy?

No? Still not funny?

*shrug*

I am just a goblin after all. I consider myself lucky to be able to English. I'll . . . I'll go take a time out in The Shadow Zone.

Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

This is what happens when we divide Pavlov by Schrödinger...

If we had any supervision we wouldn't be flying in a chicken coop with a lion.
