MonkeySloth
Wow I didn't even notice her in the concept art until I just looked it up. Been wondering what everyone has been talking about.
Adrift
Wow I didn't even notice her in the concept art until I just looked it up. Been wondering what everyone has been talking about. I really don't want to get my hopes up...I'm getting enough minis in March that the word smorgasbord doesn't really touch it.
cmorse
Oh, yes. The Hyrekia that is in the concept art will be released in Bones as well. I do not know at this time whether she will be included in the box with Kaladrax or as a separate figure. She's on my list of figs I'd like to have, and if by some miracle she was a surprise bonus figure to accompany Kaladrax it would be tres' cool. Surprise bonus? They already said she was included for anyone who ordered Kaladrax. She's neither a bonus or a surprise, just part of your order.

Orlando_the_Technicoloured
I shudder to think what the shipping cost of a metal Kaladrax or Nerthermyal would require

Orlando_the_Technicoloured
Well I guess that would just end up making it more expensive then..... Reaper would hardly want to sell them mail order only (because of the size), then up up loosing all the potential profit or more on shipping what is effectivly a bulky pewter ingot (and since it would be expensive enough for free international shipping via airmail no less, the'd need to set a price that would covere that too!) Shakandara
The reality is that between the shipping discounts Reaper receives via their agreements with their shipping partners, and the fact that they are keeping the profit on a direct sale vs. offering a steep discount to a middle-man like Alliance, they probably keep more profit on the average direct-sale than stuff sent through distribution channels. Distribution sales are profitable because of their volume, of course. They wouldn't need to price it any differently than any other large miniature. Of course, large miniatures present their own challenges. If Reaper used the same pricing model for large miniatures that they do for character figures, dragons would be ridiculously more expensive, to the point where they'd never sell. This is one of the reasons why it has been so long since Reaper has brought out any large box (or even small box, for that matter) dragons, instead releasing stuff that could be packaged into a large blister (like the Brood Dragon). The Bones KS represented an opportunity for them to test the market with dragons in a new material, and see if it is profitable to produce large dragons in a new medium and get the sales necessary to support them. I really hope it works out, as it could reopen the doors on production of larger models again, and IMO, there can never be too many cool dragon sculpts. ;) ~v
