Kingdom Death Kickstarter

Yeah, that's part of why I'm really hoping he does get a pledge manager out for it...

While I understand the wish, Adam has stated that he doesn't intend to set up a pledge manager (which would likely cause a large increase in complexity for the ordering).

That isn't to say that it isn't possible that he could change his mind, but I wouldn't plan on the eventuality.

Yes I know, I've seen the posts, but there's still two and a half weeks to go of the Kickstarter and a further two weeks after that before the money will pass to him before pledge managers are a real concern (realistically not until it's time to work out how much material will be needed and get produciton going) and already the question is getting raised several times.

I think past boardgames and miniatures kickstarters, especially ones with pledging at this price level, have formed an expectation for one, if not a requirement.

I wish I could justify spending more, but I'm already pushing my luck with the $150 I have an Imbrian and the $100 I have in here.. I'm hoping I don't have to back this pledge back down and hope to get some of the pin ups later.. my wife understood the value of the Reaper KS and I had friends go in on it with me to break up the cost..

I wish I had the programming and technical knowledge to create such a thing, but if I did, I'd run a Kickstarter to fund a start-up company to generate complex pledge managers for Kickstarter and similar campaigns. The niche is begging to be filled.

So I'm not particularly excited about the game itself, but I'd love some of the expansion figures. The pledge levels are confusing me though: at what level would I have to pledge to start adding extras?

He just added an options only pledge level! It's $11 to cover domestic shipping, but you can add any optional extras to it for the add-on price and you get the digital art book.

Excellent! Now the question is: can I justify spending $51 on a single figure?

As I just edited my post on the last page, I am under pressure to get my pledge down as well in light of the big wad of cash I dropped on the Bones KS such a short while ago. It may seem like an eternity, but the bones pledge manager did not close til October, so it has only been a hair over 2 months since I stopped pumping dough into it. That and I went a bit crazy during the 12 Days of Reaper, so it hasn't really been more than 2 days since the last time I threw money at Reaper.

I think my plan forward is to go the "options only" route as follows

1 Dragon King Expansion ($30) (1 huge dragon fig + 4 human size figs)

1 Dragon Sacrifice ($15)

1 Watcher ($15)

+options only shipping ($11)

For a total of $71.

As Adam has said before, this game is targeted for adult groups, and I have no problem with that, but it did pretty much mean that I would be in this for some of the tamer figs rather than for the game itself. I can simply center a Hackmaster adventure around the "Dragon" themed cult.

I appreciate that he added an options only level, as for some it will make it possible to participate in this KS at all.

Just in case folk missed this in the quotes above

Adam as introduced a pledge level specifically designed for those who want to grab only optional figures

$11 Options Only - If you are only interested in the options, you must select this as your reward to cover priority shipping. Add each option to your total pledge amount. A post campaign survey will be sent out to confirm your reward selections. ( This also includes the digital artbook! ), international backers add $24 shipping

I am a pledger of the dice rings and got an email saying that they may do a group effort with Kingdom Death. Possibly a custom KD dice ring that one of the characters will use as a combat mechanic. Don't know if it is targeted for this KS though.

Adam mentioned it in the latest update, it won't be in for this Kickstarter from what he's said but at somepoint in the future.

Adam commented on this "its a fun novelty thing! Not sure at this time how a monster that uses em might work, but that particular ring or ring like thing wouldn't have normal numerical values on it. It would need to "make sense" not just be a ring for the sake of it."

Some great shots up on Bell of Lost Souls showing details of the Resin Masters of three of the armour kits. There are far more pictures and close ups so do check it out.

Also a good scale shot against a Space Marine showing how big these figures are, they won't sit well will 28mm figures (they're about 35mm), but would work well as 'small giants'
