MonkeySloth
None of those have bids, as they're buy me nows, so I question if many were sold at that price ($20-25 I could easily see) but now since so many people will be getting them I expect the price to drop. recruittons
The last completed listings were $36, $40 and $48. But I definitely agree the price will drop when the kickstarter fulfills. Plenty of people will have similar notions and the price will plummet for a while. Could be worth holding onto to see if the price recovers though. Sanael
Too much book, not enough mini. Cool stuff, but not a magnet for my money.
MonkeySloth
Ya the $125 buy in is kind of high for 3 minis. Sure stretch goals will make that more attractive.
dariustad
Not really my kind of game, but everyone else have fun with it! I, too, don't know if there will be enough minis to make it as attractive as other options .
recruittons
I agree. Only reason I pledged is to secure the Miss Terious. Unless it gets better and they add some more minis or something, I'll probably end up canceling in favor of more Imbrian Arts stuff. The desert set is shaping up to be pretty freaking amazing with the cassawary rider upcoming.
MonkeySloth
Ya. Don't plege for an RPG if you want miniatures. I'm sure some more will appear in this KS but that's not the focus of it.
recruittons
True true, I do like RPGs though, but just the books seems a bit... stale. I am sort of hoping for neat add-ons or something, but I don't want to put in $125 for 3 minis and the books. I went in on Cairn and added for a few of the minis there because they will likely be something my kids will adore. I'm just hoping Wyrd cashes in a bit on their current mini fans and open up some nice options.
ObsidianCrane
Well I backed at $60 (+ postage) not sure if I'll stick it out. It will depend on if the game uses special cards that are not included at that level and what the stretches reveal.
recruittons
Looking online, it looks like the "Fate Deck" for the Malifaux world is just a standard deck of playing cards. It seems like they sell a bunch of stylishly done ones, though. Most likely what the deck at the higher pledge level is.
MonkeySloth
Fate Decks are playing cards.
ObsidianCrane
That's a bad promotional strategy; make your game look less accessable to people.
MonkeySloth
Agreed. Here's a quite from the KS comments section about the decks: The fate decks that are available for the skirmish game are specially tailored for the game, as it (and hopefully this) refer to the suits by different names. Diamonds are Masks, Spades are Crows, etc. But learning the suits, and remembering that Kings are a 13, is equally viable if you want to use a standard Bicycle deck. Just mark one of the jokers as a bad joker so you know when you Crit fail. And never flip that card!
dariustad
Making a few changes to a deck of playing cards is simply mundane and boring. The whole fate idea for the game is somewhat contrived to begin with and basically replaces a d20 roll from most games with the draw of a card. Nothing overly original.
