buglips*the*goblin
The left troll more closely matches the style of the other pieces in the thread.
ObsidianCrane
I'm going to agree with Buglips, there are some very minor differences that suggest you painted the green troll. Quickshade is expensive stuff but I think this picture certainly makes me a lot more interested in it.
badocter
Between this thread and the other y'all were 0 for 3. My daughter painted the green one, and it came out looking great.
mjacobson
My daughter painted the green one, and it came out looking great. That's for sure! The black troll looks great, too, but that green one has real depth.
Seer of the Pitt
The basing style is different on the green troll, whereas the right hand troll's basing and more closely matches the other miniatures- and speaking of basing, the drider's is really nice. I like the phosphorescent algae, it adds to the depth of the water effect.

I have tried to use a similar palette and basing style on all the minis in this thread since the game is set in the underdark. Lots of greys with tinting toward purples and blues, and a rocky terrain. Brooding and iridescent. The drider and shadow dragon inspired me to make a greater effort on the base than the others. Those two had large bases with very little area of contact with the mini, so the plain base looked even more bare than normal. The next two are done, the Drow wizard and matron mother:
badocter
3 more figs done, including Wulfgar:
badocter
I was not sure what to do with the translecent blue figs. The left is raw, and the right is after applying a purple wash followed by white drybrushing. I am pretty happy with that and will likely do the other figs the same way. Dilvish the Deliverer
That looks....Wow... so much better than the original. Just a wash and a drybrush? That brings out the details so much better. Great job. I think I may have a technique for my translucent Bones in the KS.
badocter
Yes, a dark purple wash followed by a white drybrush and done. Took me less time to do this whole mini than it usually takes me to prime a normal one. Caffiene
Ooh, agreed. That looks excellent. More depth and detail, more character, and still has a good amount of transparency. Ive actually got the LoD boardgame sitting around waiting for some paint myself, and thats going to be my first choice for technique on the ghosts and elementals, plus probably the transparent Bones when they arrive as well.
badocter
The three haunting spirits are now done. It's funny how lighting can change te mood. The first one looks like a christmas spirit come to warn you, the second looks like it is about to give you some negative levels. smokingwreckage
A bit late to the thread; I picked the correct troll.
