The basing style is different on the green troll, whereas the right hand troll's basing and more closely matches the other miniatures- and speaking of basing, the drider's is really nice. I like the phosphorescent algae, it adds to the depth of the water effect.

Thanks. I have tried to use a similar palette and basing style on all the minis in this thread since the game is set in the underdark. Lots of greys with tinting toward purples and blues, and a rocky terrain. Brooding and iridescent. The drider and shadow dragon inspired me to make a greater effort on the base than the others. Those two had large bases with very little area of contact with the mini, so the plain base looked even more bare than normal.

The next two are done, the Drow wizard and matron mother:

I was not sure what to do with the translecent blue figs. The left is raw, and the right is after applying a purple wash followed by white drybrushing. I am pretty happy with that and will likely do the other figs the same way. Comment?

Yes, a dark purple wash followed by a white drybrush and done. Took me less time to do this whole mini than it usually takes me to prime a normal one. Here is what he looks like if I backlight him with the desk lamp shown on the very first post of this thread and frontlight him with my utility lamp

This one is backlit slightly from an angle 45 degrees above with a normal light and front lit with the utility light.

Ooh, agreed. That looks excellent.

More depth and detail, more character, and still has a good amount of transparency. Ive actually got the LoD boardgame sitting around waiting for some paint myself, and thats going to be my first choice for technique on the ghosts and elementals, plus probably the transparent Bones when they arrive as well.

It's funny how lighting can change te mood. The first one looks like a christmas spirit come to warn you, the second looks like it is about to give you some negative levels.
