Slendertroll
I don't currently have any demons or devils Sounds like it's time to place an order!
MonkeySloth
Please take further discussions of other challenges and challenges to their own threads. As for judging, we're waiting on getting a list for the single entry as my normal group knows some people that entered. Those judges will still judge the Diorama section though.
wolfie907
out of curiosity why wouldn't some people paint a demon?
Slendertroll
out of curiosity why wouldn't some people paint a demon? I would assume it's a religious thing? Painting a detailed miniature devil could be seen as occult or sacrilegious or something?

Painting a detailed miniature devil could be seen as occult or sacrilegious or something?I'm not going to call them out by name (although I'm sure they'll be along to post on their own behalf soon enough ), but one of our posters here has mentioned that they refuse to paint demons/devils because it makes them uncomfortable. Everybody has their own hangups, some are more rational than others. That poster is already sitting out one challenge because of this, it would be nice if we could make this one a bit more open so that they can participate.
wolfie907
I wont knock anyone ones religion but it does seem odd to me to be ok with a dragon and not a demon just sayin
ShadowRaven
It may seem odd to you, but to them it makes sense, and that's reason enough for them to not.
dispatchdave
I wont knock anyone ones religion but it does seem odd to me to be ok with a dragon and not a demon just sayin My take would be that dragons are mythological and demons are not (according to their world view, not necessarily mine). Another idea comes to mind along those lines for me. Painting demons could be seen as taunting fate, so to speak. The same train of thought could be used when painting the Devil himself. That is just a guess, though.
Slendertroll
To be fair, various religious organizations have commissioned thousands of paintings and sculptures of Lucifer, Satan, and various devils and demons. But yeah, if someone isn't into painting something, for whatever reason, that's fine by me. (But I'm not sure it's sufficient reason to avoid having a contest focusing on the subject.)
