Appreciate the PMs, wouldn't have caught these without them. Got kits 1 & 2...now just have to wait for the mail.

Wife: What are you ordering

Me: learn to paint kits!

Wife: Why do you need those anyhow, you've been painting for years :grr:

Me: (confused look) because I want to be a better painter?

Wife: You're so weird.

Me: (under breath) and you're an evil heifer

Wife: What was that?

Me: Nothing...

When I last posted I knew they were in stock, but I PM some of the users that were bummed that they were oos. Wanted them to get the first shot. Still in stock (barely) at this time. I am just waiting on my 5 and 3 to come. I skipped 1 and 2 because only 4 was in stock for a long time. I waited until there was only a few left and ordered 4. When all came back I figured that 4 was the more advanced skin tone and it was within reach of the techniques I knew so why go back to 2. Any take on if to go back to 1? My main problem is that I have bad brush control. That I will have to learn with practice.

It's worth the extra practice anyway, and while 1 & 2 have simpler techniques they're still useful to know. 2 does skintones with washes, and you might have a point in a project where you need a different kind of skin tone, maybe to just alter the colour a bit, where a wash might serve better than trying to mix your shade, midtone, and highlight.

It's all tools for the toolbox. You might not always need them all, you might even never use them all, but if you need 'em then you know 'em, at least enough to think your way around getting the effect you want.

Think of the kits as less "this is the way you do it right" and more "this is how you do this method, and here are some things it's good for". It's more about learning the why of it than necessarily the how. Understanding the method so you can creatively apply it for your own use.

No wonder these kits are flying off the shelves. They have full dropper bottles of paint instead of samples. I just got my LTPK1 in the mail today and these are pics of the package and the contents. Suffice to say, I just ordered LTPK2. Hoody Hoo ! Very satisfied customer.

Yep! Word is, from what Ive gathered lurking the forums here, that Reaper had problems with supply of the sample pots for the paint to go in, and it ended up they decided to just not bother and simply use their regular paint bottle stock instead.

Wow. With full dropper bottles, I figure LTPK1 is as good a deal as the KS paint sets. The KS price per bottle in those sets was $1.50, which would make the LTPK1 set of 10 paints around $15 with the the other $10 covering two medium size metal figs, 2 paint brushes and the instructions. Sweet deal.

I officially have a healthy paint set now, also I had a horrible weekend at work (nurses are horrible people imo) but getting these kits in So made up for it.

Ignore the 50 shades of gray on the coffee table, I had to remind her of what I would do to that or the twilight books if she left it in my apartment.
