Alright, this guy's base took me forever. And by that, I mean 2 solid days of sculpting, another 2 of setting the colors, sculpting little bits, and filling with realistic water. I painted him over several more days, carefully blending to the best of my (limited) ability to get him to look nice. Here are the results ::D:

By the way, the model is http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/tindalos/sku-down/50289'>Hound of Tindalos (50289) and now I need to get several more and do them in different styles!

Okay, I have another entry to make here, so here goes! This guy is http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/wereboar/sku-down/65134'>65134: Wereboar. The model itself is a bit... off. The head piece doesn't quite fit around the nub it's supposed to, but that wasn't so bad. The annoying bit is the left arm. It's actually differently sculpted from the body. It's disproportionately sized and the fur isn't the same texture as the rest of the model. Otherwise, the rest of him is incredible and I had a ton of fun painting him ::D:

Here we see... the mighty wereboar. This majestic creature roots around the forest groves, ripping it's way through pesky vines and muddy soil in search of a meal. Perhaps that mushroom in front of the tree on the left perhaps?

Passing by two seemingly poisonous mushrooms, our quarry is simply beautiful. Fur glistening in the sun, his body moving with such force that were he to try, he could tear down both trees, not just some silly vine.

So there. I sculpted up the trees using miliput. Same with the vine and vine chunks on the ground. The mushrooms were a bit of a pain, but I think they add a nice bit of color to the scenery! I achieved the muddy look on the ground by applying a thin layer of realistic water over a brown milliput base. it gives it a great, glossy, mud look ::D:

Not a really large project...but I really like how he turned out. It was my first time trying to use a resin water product, since it takes up so little of the base, hard to tell if it looks how it should. The starfish and shells were made from a resin too, then painted. post-7024-0-43349600-1359189013_thumb.jpg post-7024-0-52018200-1359188999_thumb.jpg post-7024-0-98967000-1359188977_thumb.jpg

Since I got this mini from the Secret Sophie exchange, I wanted to do something a little fancier with it. A swamp base just seemed appropriate for the mini, so I ened up with:

The mini is 03060: Kierra Darkdreamer, done up on a larger base to give me a bit of room to make the swamp.

As for the base:

  • The dirt/mud is air-dry clay coated with some fine sand then painted up with Muddy Brown and drybrushed with a bit of Terrain Khaki.
  • The water is Woodland Scenics water effect laid down over a base coat of 50/50 Military Green and Uniform Brown.
  • The stump and the dead log are twigs from the backyard, covered in a bit of terrarium fake lichen.
  • The plant is from an aquarium set
  • Finally, the mushroom was scuplted from Milliput

Hi, here's my Snakeman Champion 02935 sculpted by Jason Wiebe. I painted him as an Anaconda and didn't use the optional weapons that were supposed to be fixed on his back. I added pointy plates to fill the hole at the back of his armor.

On the base, the big dead leaf, the ferns, the plants and high grass are all plastic aquarium plants that I repainted. I also added realistic water effect and birch seeds under the bromelia but it doesn't show much.

I hope you'll like it!

Well, here is my only piece for this category. It contains the ICE QUEEN # 02821 & the Badger/Wolverine from the Familiar Pack III #2593. I am pretty sure the base is not as scenic as I would have liked, but it was more than I put into the bases of my single figure entries.
