Last time someone spoke critical of a company in a kickstarter thread it turned really, really bad once the guy running the Kickstarter showed up and Bryan was not happy at all. That's probably why Beagle didn't post them.

But, as people do have a right to know, keep in mind that this is older info (from about 8 years ago) and it's Eastern Front. They didn't pay at least once sculptor, at the time of the post it had been a year, and they had a lot of trouble delivering product to people being ordered (some never being delivered at all despite several promises that it would be).

As had been said elsewhere in this thread, you take a risk with Kickstarters but this was quite a while ago and hopefully they have their act together.

If you want to read the threads they're on TMP and Frothers, but there's no real extra info outside of what I've summarized. Not going to link to the Frothers one as it seams to be net etiquette not to link to that forum, but that's where the sculptor was complaining but google will help you find it.

TMP has also flagged them as deadbeats but there's no info as to when that happened.

Going to the TMP page and clicking on the top right (view posts about) will give you a better list of stuff then Beagle had sent (as there's way more), the search doesn't have a direct link (due to how it's programmed) or I'd post one.

Well, it's a good time for Mike to step up and clear his name, since he seems to be a common thread of concern even before any allegations from the past arose. If he can come through on the stuff he's promising now (hopefully without starting more projects), that will go a long way in a small community.

Vejin, At least CMON is now shipping from the EU for backers in the union. I expect other large projects to follow suit. The US backers are subsidizing the VAT, customs and shipping that is more than $25 per unit. That is OK though, it allows a lot more people to get in the project. I am curious who they have to do the fulfillment?

One of the people I buy kilts from just informed her international customers that USPS was raising their international rates by 60% by the end of the month..

Morning all

Didn't reply to posts last night as my bed was calling to me.

I had sufficient concern about a couple of kickstarters I've supported to start digging around on the net. I also asked for opinions from some well established friends in the industry. Unfortunately replies I received and forums I read (I sent a portion of these to MonkeySloth), did nothing to vanquish my fears.

I was in two minds as to whether to mention it yesterday and in three minds as to whether I want to be involved in a discussion online, partly because there's an element of wanting to hide behind the curtain and hope everything's ok, and partly because such discussions usually end up with everyone down.

As Mr Sloth says, some of the evidence is quite old, but some is not.

But the money has been paid and I guess all we can do is keep our fingers crossed that things have turned around.

There have been a lot of sometimes contentious discussions on the net of various companies, scandals, dubious businesses, and disappointments. I think the internet has been an invaluable and unmatched resource for discovering information that might have been lost in decades past.

A lot of those discussions seem to have been on forums, blogs, et al. where people forget basic rules of clear communication and respect, or somehow feel they do not apply on the internet, or that people will easily understand their intentions and respond in expected ways. These can get quite heated, and online communication's unfortunate effect of magnifying emotional responses can make things worse.

The Reaper community has been well regulated. I don't know if it's the overall company personality or the vigilance of the moderators or the effects of certain members of the forum or the relatively harmless hobby subject matter or something I'm ignorant of, but on this site people who might not at all get along elsewhere come together to discuss a mutual interest -- and quite a lot of diverting and amusing irrelevancies -- harmoniously.

I would feel more comfortable discussing gaming business disappointments here than on any other site I've found on the web.

The ongoing discussion regarding the Maelstrom/Mierce issue shows you guys can have a solid, appropriate discussion regarding potential concerns without it degenerating into a Torch-Wielding Troll-o-rama.

Keep it appropriate. Make sure you've got your facts in order. Keep it civil.

The great thing about the internet is that there is so much information readily available now for the consumer.

The horrible thing about the internet is that there is so much information readily available now for the consumer.

Fingers crossed here too. Thanks for posting this, even though reading it didn't exactly make me jump up and down with joy. But I'm trying to be optimistically hopeful.

Some recent threads have lead me to believe that while Reaper forum participants are, on a whole, classier than your average forum bum, a large portion of the credit can be laid at the feet of our friendly neighborhood nerd herders with the nail-bats.

Sod all to do with gaming, but I know we've got cat people with their own voids at home; and some of you might be into pins and need a Void of Blep of your own.
Or.. heck, I'unno. Maybe you need void stickers or something.

      Greetings all,
This is Ed Pugh making this post~
This weekend, I sat down and read several weeks’ worth of posts. (I would like to call out Andrew Miller and his post made to the tune of John Lennon’s song “Imagine”. Fun stuff!)
I would like to thank ALL of the people making comments here. I especially focused on comments made by upset backers. Your comments are helpful, and this is how we learn. We might not be able to fix everyone’s problems at this time, but they will all be addressed in future planning discussions.

Now down to business. I’m making this post because I realized last night that in the rush to get everything going, no one was assigned to monitor the KS comments. In the past, that duty fell on the shoulders of Matt Clark, but he retired last year. That’s on us and we will have someone dedicated to poking their head in here.

UPDATES: “Official” updates occur twice a month on the KS Updates Section. Everything that is important is in these updates.
We will also answer questions, show pictures, promote, and discuss the KS on all our social media platforms. Because a lot can occur during the two-week intervals between Official Updates, many pictures, discussions, and information not contained in the prior Official Update will show up on these social media sites.
In the end, if ALL you read are the Official Updates you will receive more than enough information to be up to date.
While this is not an official update, I’m going to shed some light on a few things.

      1) What should I do about defects, missing parts, or missing order items?
Send an email to our customer service department at [email protected] Our team will take care of you.

      2) UPS just sent me a notification that my order is going to my old address. What should I do?
Go to UPS MyChoice and redirect it https://www.ups.com/us/en/services/tracking/mychoice.page?

      3) What are the EU and UK start dates?
We are confirming AU is still July 5th. The UK has their container and is getting ready, but no hard date at this moment. We will have one next week.

      4) Where is the last container for the US Warehouse?
The last container is still stuck in Los Angeles.
We are working each day to break this log jam. I hope for word on Tuesday when everyone returns back to work.

      5) Why are some Waves going back and forth?
Shipments are combined and stacked in the order pulling queue. They are then printed in batches. “Wave hopping” sometimes does occur. Simple examples that can cause this are the picker/puller grabs a pull ticket from the wrong stack or from the back of the stack (printed pull tickets are stacked in a tray on their sides). We try our best. The good news is that we are usually done pulling in a few weeks.

      6) Why is Canadian shipping different this time?
We have used UPS to get shipments into Canada every KS except KS1. UPS prepares shipping options based on the data for Canada. Location, package count, sizes, weights etc. They in turn present the options to us. We will generally choose the cheapest option that still balances service with price.
In the past it was cheaper for us to use the service in which we imported the packages to ourselves as a non-resident importer. This option required Reaper to pay the 5% GST as the importer. We were unable to collect or bill backers for the 5% GST we paid as we are not registered with Canada to collect anything. In summary, it was cheaper for us to pay the GST to send your package.
I do not know what changed between Canada and the USA, but this time the service we used in the past was substantially more expensive than direct service. Direct service is a better option and came with better tracking and UPSMyChoice. There are NO duties on US products. In the end, you are paying your local sales tax and GST and an entry fee based on the size of your order.

I want to thank everyone for their participation and support of the Kickstarter. Please continue to post your comments. They do all get read. Please stay safe~
