dwarvenranger
Thanks Stubbdog that might just be the ticket . Nytflyr, he's the smallest dog I've ever owned.
nytflyr
Nytflyr, he's the smallest dog I've ever owned. mine have gotten smaller over the years. We started with a 75lbs Pit Bull and an 80Lbs Rottie mix, now We're down to a 50lbs Brittney and a 55lbs Catahoula Leopard Dog (we lucked out, he could have grown up to 95lbs, depending on which line)
Heisler
We have a Catahoula mixed with a Blue Heeler. She is a funky looking dog. I was looking at the map from the campground to Reaper. I don't think that's a 15 minute drive, I'm thinking its closer to 30. However, I don't live there either and Jason does.
Stubbdog
As a native Texan... I say "15 minutes" to everything, even if its truly 4 hours..... But, in reality, I think it actually is about 15-20 minutes since it is on the north side of the lake. I live another 15-20 minutes to the south of there and it takes me a little over 30 minutes to get to Reaper (except during traffic times).. the problem is, you never know about traffic. its about as unpredictable as Texas weather. Moderator TaleSpinner Posted February 8, 2013 Moderator Share Posted February 8, 2013 One important point, it didn't say if there were showers at the campground.
nytflyr
One important point, it didn't say if there were showers at the campground. I would bet that "There are restroom facilities within the park and campground." includes showers but I would definitely call to make sure
Qwyksilver
What's to predict about TX weather? It's hot or it's really frakkin hot!
Stubbdog
May thru August, yes, that is correct. But, Feb thru May is much more sporadic. 70s one day, 20s the next, then back in the 70s the following and maybe a day in the 90s a few days later. During spring we get lots of 1-2 day blow thru changes. Sometimes those are cold, sometimes those are hot. I have seen both. Good thing is they never last more than a day or two. Bad thing is you just never know which 1-2 days those are. Spring for us starts in mid January, not March.
Thaelynne
Hi, ReaperRon, can you confirm something for me? Is the rate at the Best Western supposed to be $69.99? I've been quoted two other prices, both higher than that, so I'm going to have to call back during the day when the manager is there to get a final answer. Just wanted to ask you as well. Thaelynne
Well I called back and I got a rate of $71.99 (after updating my previous reservation), so I'm not sure why the price difference, but still... not too bad.
Girot
I may take advantage of the lower rates a Best Western so I can rent a van. I'd be willing to carpool with folks also staying there.
haldir
You won't be disappointed in the BW. It's a nice hotel + the staff are friendly, especially the owner Sunny Patel. RM
TGP
This: Well I called back and I got a rate of $71.99 (after updating my previous reservation), so I'm not sure why the price difference, but still... not too bad. ...sounds like some sort of small tax: Local taxing authorities are authorized to impose an additional local hotel tax that is collected by the local taxing authority. For more information [ click this link]. $2 difference.
BlackEd
Hey all! I'm getting ready to go to my first ReaperCon this year! I have a room at the Hilton Gardens Inn. I'm looking for a roommate to share a room and expenses. I've got a double queen room booked. I'm coming in on Friday, and staying until Monday morning -- flight at 6am back to NH.
