Zombicide: Toxic City Mall

For the toxic zombies I'm going the 90's video game route, green blood.

Considering the nature of the game and the survivors in it, I'm overall going more for a Return of the Living Dead sort of vibe.

I painted these season 1 zombies for a different game, that's why they are wasteland based.

I am going to paint the survivors and dogs, and maybe the zombies if I have time. I also have been deliberating about how to tell them apart. I think leaving the colored edge of the base would not be enough. Leaving the whole base unpainted would work, but not look good. I might just have the toxic base splashed in green toxic goo, and the berserk bases splashed in red blood. They have to be quicky distinguished in a crowd of zombies (and you do get big crowds) for my poor eyes.

TIG, those are all cool options. I hadn't really considered it. I think the outer ring color (either unpainted, or painted a uniform color) would be good. I think I saw one who painted the lines on the pavement bases different colors to code it, which was pretty cool.

Toxic could have green blood and green glowy eyes, but I'm not sure where you would go with berserk if you used eyes/blood as a marker.

Another thing is I plan on leaving everything from TCM and Season 2 in the box until I've played through Season 1 a few times (I missed it the first time around, so it's all new to me). Tonight's plan is to prep a couple survivors for paint and then play a couple solo games.

Just a note: I pledged for Inmate Level which got me Prison Outbreak and not Toxic City Mall. The 2 stretch goal characters I got with a .45 magnum and flamethrower do not have the equipment card for their weapons, since they are included in Toxic City Mall. I left a message with the KS hoping they send me the cards, since the characters are useless without them.

They won't send the cards. The solution they decided on is that you can download the cards from Guillotine's website.

Yeah got mine yesterday. Didn't pledge in the first KS, so got all the games. My general impression is that the sculpts (especially the non standard zombies) are pretty detailed for a box game. I plan on playin original Zombicide Season 1 this weekend. For paint since i have not finished a mini this year...i think i will focus on survivors and probably do one of each type of Zombie and leave the rest unpainted. I will probably add magnets to the bases for storage.

At this point, i am much happier with supporting this KS than the Sedition Wars KS (which may get moved to the closet of shame).

As much as I love the sculpts from SW and Studio McVey in general, I have to agree. But I'm strongly biased in that I have no group for skirmish gaming, so anything solo/co-op is going to be all I look at from here out except for minis (Hell Dorado, Shadowsea, etc). Plastic board game minis are only for something I'll approach as a gamer rather than a painter (this is a first!).
