Zombicide: Toxic City Mall

You can put me in the angry category.

To be fair, I haven't actually received my wave 2 shipment yet and haven't seen in person how big the issue is.  However, I can already imagine it causing issues - particularly anytime a molotov cocktail gets used to clear a square of zombies.  Even outside this "extreme" case (and really, can you consider this extreme considering how often it happens?), I'm the kind of person who hates counting each individual point - I tend to do the math and move the counter directly to the new level (shades of Wil vs Anne from Tabletop coming through here...)

Now as I said, I haven't actually received my wave 2 shipment so I haven't had a chance to try out the character cards in person.  Its possible that, after getting a chance to try it, I will think that the issue is not a big deal.  I don't think this is likely but I can't completely discount the possibility.

Anyway, for the reasons outlined above, I don't think this misprint is a minor issue.  Taken another way, if this were a retail character expansion and it didn't have those numbers on the printed character card, I wouldn't buy it.  As a result, the fact that CMON and GG aren't willing to fix this issue becomes a source of major disappointment to me.

I think it really comes down to how much it bothers each person on a case by case basis. It certainly isn't ideal. I think my plan is to write in, or mark, every fifth bar. I can't math very well, but if I'm only dealing with numbers within a range of 5 I should be ok. Or I might go nuts and devise some sort of way over-worked scheme for printing the xp track and transposing it onto the cards. It would probably involve paper and glue... and maybe plutonium.

While it is their mistake, I really don't think it is a huge deal. I can understand them not wanting to re-print this stuff on what is already a pretty razor thin profit margin for something like this. I guess the way I look at this is....is your minor inconvenience of having to count worth costing a company you ostensibly like the thousands of dollars it would take to reprint? Money used to develop their next product or feed their families? Its not like these guys are "board game millionaires" rolling in it. I'm pretty sure such a thing doesn't exist.

'Money used to develop their next product'

I think this will be made with a new KS.

But what I do not understand is, why not putting the pictures of the cards in the updates.

They would have gotten feedback about the misssing numbers long before they would be printed.

Why not using around 9000 backers (late backers included) as proofreaders? Same with the manuals (more than the small pictures they revealed.)...

Ok, not all 9000 backers will proofread it, but few of them are enough.

GG is not really using the strength of a KS, having a big community behind them would meant a lot of gamers testing the rules, checking if all is correct....

I'm not sure when promo survivors were posted to the website? It may be that they posted them and sent them to print at the same time? Also... not to jinx anything, but as of yesterday (after their update on facebok) the not John Cleese character from the mustache pack still had no numbers on the zombivor side of his character card...

EDIT: He and not Magnum P.I. still have no numbers on the cards in the gallery on their zombivor side...

Just received my wave 2 shipment mere minutes ago.

Are the missing numbers on the character cards a disappointment? Sure, it would have been nice to have them on the card. I see no problem with people expressing their disappointment over it.

Is it the deal breaker that so many on the ks comments are making it out to be? Well folks mileage will vary but no, it's not. It's a slight inconvenience but certainly doesn't make the game unplayable.

Kickstarter backers are early adopters and risks are a not uncommon thing for early adopters in any market. I can work around this little problem. Those who can't may be better satisfied for the final product to hit retail, wait for some reviews, and then make their decision to purchase or not.

Anyway. I've now 15 more survivors with their zombivor versions. I don't even know how many Zombicide minis I have anymore.

I've got at least 20.I will pen in the numbers if for some reason I miss them, and enjoy my $10 credit in the next KS.

Seeing some if the great work you did on your survivors is why I'm holding onto hope that I'll be able to do a half decent job when I get round to mine.

And when it comes right down to it, these character trackers are really just character sheets, and I've years of experience keeping track of things on character sheets.

I don't have any particular issue with printing copies if I want the numbers, as long as they actually put up high res version. The versions on their site now aren't high res by any definition.

High res images are available under Utilities.
