haldir
Foxit does everything Adobe does, just isn't as bloated Wow going through allot of older gaming books right now. In the process of selling/thinning down the herd (mainly for ReaperCon). Pretty amazing what I've accumulated over the 30+ years of gaming I've been involved with in some form or anther.. Loim
@Haldir I donated all of my 2nd and 3rd Ed stuff to some troops a few years ago. Slowly building it back up though, mostly with Pathfinder :P.
Inarah
So we have a ranger, thief, mage, fighter and cleric? Any objections to a bard? I see it is an optional class in 2nd ed.
Loim
Not sure where you got Ranger, Thief, and Mage from. So far as I know at the moment we have a fighter and a cleric. Bard is fine if that's what you want to roll.
Qwyksilver
I was going to make a Thief, and Haldir was making a Ranger. Hoping to get my character done and uploaded this weekend, provided storm doesn't knock out power. Another question, will you be having us meet as a party prior this starting, i.e. do we all already know each other? Or will our meeting and coming together be part of the beginning of the thread? Loim
Sorry, I just realized my previous reply was kind of jerkish. I didn't intend it that way. I know you guys have been bouncing characters around, but my logic is that until you give me a character on here, it's still up in the air. I don't have anything against anyone playing whatever. @Qwyksilver your meeting will be part of the adventure hook. I don't want to give anything away. You can absolutely say you know some of the other characters if you and they want. Others will be unknown quantities until you meet them however/wherever. If you do decided to say you are boon companions (or at least uneasy allies) please let me know before the playing starts.
haldir
since we got a Mino, I was thinkin of going the Beastman route (never have played one of those) but I wasn't sure with what they got for abilities & such (the Magic Resistance vs good & bad magic, etc). Anyone have any objections? I'm also not sure how human-centric we are gonna have this party & such.
Loim
If you want to go the beastman route you can. However, like the Minotaur you will be an oddity. They are not native to Renascentia, and no others exist there naturally.
Kacir
I definitely have no objections. I've always found that a more diverse group lends itself to better role playing moments. Not a lot of interesting conversation between a group made up of male human fighters, lol. "I attack with my sword..." what do YOU do? "I attack with my sword..." what do you do? "I attack with my TWO HANDED sword..." Ha ha!
Inarah
This is my concept (half-elf bard): Abandoned by her elven mother Alfreda was adopted by a human dairy farmer and his wife after they found her in a basket hanging from their gate post. Her delicate build, dark hair, and slightly pointed ears set her apart from the sturdy blonde children of the village and she was often the target of bullying. She learned to use a knife, climb, and move without drawing attention to herself, and when necessary to hide in the woods that the other children feared. Her talent for music also developed young, the songs she sang while doing chores on the farm with her human brothers always seemed to make the work go faster, and her lullabies could calm an injured cow or make the birthing come easily. Wanting to know more about the elves (for there were none near the village) Alfreda left home in search of answers to her questions. In the city she found work with a small theater, where she learned to play several instruments, juggle, use a sword, and do card tricks. After a year in the city she has taken up with a wandering stage show where she continues to sing to both people and animals, still looking for elves.
Loim
@Inarah I like it @Haldir are you still looking at a ranger? Beastman ranger would be pretty interesting. I'm writing adventure hooks for you all as you give me your character info. That's why I need to know if any of your characters know each other. haldir
I thinking about it (seriously thinking about it). I'm gonna work on characters tomorrow morning & I'll let you know the background tomorrow.
Loim
You are all my little meat puppets. Oh, you'll scream, and scream, and scream! Your torment will be glorious...I mean I'm very excited to get this started. I hope I don't suck too much at the DMing thing, I'm pretty rusty. Kacir
If, by not sucking, you mean I will just happen to find the hammer of thunderbolts and a girdle of giant strength in my pack upon the beginning of the adventure, then, yeah, I'm cool with that... Shiqra
Hahahaha Kacir!!! I was hooked at "the madness and butchery will commence" - that sounded like sufficiently crazy fun. Plus I've never played DnD before but always wanted to - so I'm looking forward to this - however it ends up :)
