I had thought of maybe using some for Warlord at some point (since I already have a decent start on a Nefsokar force). I'd have to do a lot of convincing, not a big gaming community here. And I'd probably have to paint all the minis for everyone. There's a reason I'm paint-focused :)

I understand, I'm looking at 4 armies for Warlord with 0 opponents (older than 10) available. 2 of them will come nearly entirely from the Vampire pledge (as I detail here). When I can finally afford another Reaper order I'll be getting the Savage North rules and the next 4 minis for my Sisters army. :)

I forgot to mention a secret test I did and forgot to photo. We had been talking about using Micron pens for eyes and I had heard the ink repelled water, thus making it tough to re-do the eyes if you made a mistake. My original intention was to do a lot more freehand on this mini, but I bombed it pretty bad with paint.

So I broke out a Micron pen and wrote Anduriel in elvish script on the scabbard and then tried glazing over it, hoping the ink would repel the watery glaze and I'd get this super smooth gradiant with lettering. That bombed, too. But I learned you can cover over Micron ink with glazes, so that might help someone!

And continued thanks for the kind words. It really helps in my struggle to paint the way I want to.

This is freak-damn holy flying death-carp amazing.

Skintone choices and blending are perfect. This guy could be on a poster for maybeline or something.

Steel NMM does what NMM does. Neat, clean, and a good read on the grey colour. It's decent NMM.

Gold NMM is utterly mind blowing. The shoulder trim and chest in particular are shimmery and liquid like light playing over hammered, polished surfaces. WOW. I think the orange tone you've got in the shadows there is magic.

I'll take credit for choosing the skin tones, based in Fair Shadow. Mid-tone of 1:1 Fair Shadow:Fair Highlight (my faux Fair Skin because I don't have it yet, KS set). Highs of Fair Highlight then bumped up a little with Linen for elfy paleness. Just thinned with water, maybe a drop of my matte medium mix.

The NMM I'll only take the blame for where it's screwed up. All the credit there goes to Anne. She chose the colors (the gold shadow is Oiled Leather, same as the hair), she wrote the instructions I followed :) I think the sculpt also helps the two areas you mention, they're nubbly so the shadow shows through the highlights to good effect. Also, NMM photographs well :)

By Odin's oily eyepatch, I do have difficulty accepting complements :) Thanks!
