The Great Unpainted Masses

Here's a picture of my miniatures that are at least opened. Most were for a couple of different games I used to play. A hundred or so are started (beyond primed) and are now scattered about my desk, while the rest are now tucked away in drawers and cases and boxes. I had them all out to get my database up to date.

That's a 3'x6' table, btw.

This doesn't include the 11 or 12 boxes of figs that are still in blisters.

At my current rate of painting, and factoring in the Bones and Gnomes already ordered, I should have everything painted in roughly 55 years...assuming I never buy another fig.

I've got a garage storage locker (3.5' x 7' x 2' deep) completely filled + another about 1/4 that size of just vehilces for my Blood Angels. Oh and a Warhound Titan. On the otherside of my garage I have a large storage bin of partially assembled/painted terrain. And then there's my desk... and my bedroom closet....

I have like, maybe a dozen unpainted. I'm so ashamed.

The first step, is admitting you have a problem.... ::):

That's gonna change pretty soon... I got the Vampire + every one of the addons.

The second step is adding to the problem

The third step is just giving up any sense of self control.

Oh, looks like I'm firmly on the right track, then.

The fourth step is reading and posting on forums such as this instead of even considering trying to paint any minis.

My hubby gives me hell for that all the time. As a result I try to spend most of the time on the forum at work, though there are some things I can't see at work because of their ridiculous filters. (Just because the WotC website is for D&D does not mean that it's going to eat the computer!)

I have decided recently to paint more and also purchase far fewer miniatures. I am also selling off a lot of my older stuff and stuff that I won't get round to painting. Being a bit ruthless. I want to paint more every month / year than I buy. I think I am also going to get my "plastic crack" fix from terrain and scenery pieces as do not have any of these.

I will of course do more kickstarters but be picky. And if Reaper were to do another I would deinetly be on board as love their miniature ranges. And I'm playing more RPG than anything else now too.

I find forums inspirational for painting. I wish I had a gaming group as was being discussed in a thread here. At some point I will try to setup a local one maybe 3 or 4 people to paint together one evening for a few hours.

I'm also lowering my standards a bit for board game minis and wargame minis and reserving my "best" paint jobs for characters and one off models.

So Thanks too :)
