Loim
Do any of you guys and gals remember Starriors? I stumbled across them today on the interwebz, and remembered how awesome I thought they were when I was a grub.

buglips*the*goblin
Nope - skipped right over them. They came out in 1984, same year as transformers - and the third series of G.I. Joes, and go-bots, no less - and a year before Robotech came along so they were well crowded out for me. Robotech, incidentally, was my first exposure to The Nerdpicker (a nitpicking nerd). "You know those were totally separate cartoons mashed together for an American audience, don't you?" fictional nerdpicker says snottily. Why, no, master wizard, I didn't. And I didn't particularly care, either. I don't care if it was Macross, or gundam, or magic splish splash robot show. It held together well enough, and it entertained. That's better than 50% of scripted entertainment, really.
Loim
I didn't encounter Macross until years later. Good stuff.
redambrosia
I did a good seach for Starriors, and some of the dinosaur shaped ones look familiar. They were probably my brother's toys which I would "borrow" for my teddy bears and dolls to use. I had a very open and accepting toy society.
buglips*the*goblin
I didn't encounter Macross until years later. Good stuff. MOSPEADA is the gear. Wearable motorcycles, post-apocalyptic pseudo-western, and giant purple crab machines. If I had to pick a fictional world to live in, it would be that. Cross-dressing lounge singers and all. The Inner Geek
A quick google search reveals that, while I'd forgotten the name entirely, I used to have just about the entire line of those toys. Wow. In fact, I may still have one of them in a box of Transformers I've kept around in hopes of giving to my kids one day... though that will never happen as I'm far too selfish. Lars Porsenna
Yes! These were pretty cool toys, and each one came with a mini comic. I wish I still had those, but alas long gone... Speaking of obscure toy lines, there were Go-bots and Transformers, but did anyone have Converters? They were the low rent versions of Transformers, almost always carded with a blister, with B&W printing on the back. Some really unique subjects, as well as some of the more unusual Japanese imports (like versions of the tank, chopper, and jeep from Dorvack -- the latter also imported for the Transformers line). Going down memory lane, also had few of the Wheeled Warriors. The cartoon was pretty aweful, but the toys were quite cool... papabees
I always liked MASK myself.
Lars Porsenna
I always liked MASK myself. Another good one! I had the green motorcycle that turned into a helicopter, and my friend had the SUV that turned into a jet(?) Here's another one for you: Sectaurs! Damon. Loim
I had the motorcycle that turned into a jet, Vampire. Condor was the green motorcycle.
buglips*the*goblin
I forgot about MASK. Never had any. Also, I never had any He-Man toys. Come to that, never had any Star Wars either.

buglips*the*goblin
Oh, I played with lots of stuff - they just belonged to friends. Really, that kinda worked out. Everybody had different stuff, so every kid in the neighbourhood had to socialize. I was the biggest into G.I. Joe - and also the sole kid with Voltron toys. But I didn't have any of the bad guys - just the castle, the lions, and the figures. It wasn't long before I combined them with Joes, and had Cobra Commander sneaking off to try and trick the naive alien anime people that he was oppressed and needed their help to fight the evil dictatorship of the Joes. "But I'm telllling youuuu, princesssssss . . . they're eeevillll! You musssssst help me crussssh them! I mean, liberate earth frommmm themmmm! I've oversssssold it, haven't I?"
