Fun weekend project. Had the Lily mini sitting around since Christmas waiting to be painted, got inspired by CashWiley's posting in the February challenge thread, and then spotted the air elemental at the FLGS on Friday. My first attempt at painting dark skin. C&C welcome.

I adore what you did with the air elemental base. The purples and blues where Storm is standing are lovely! The only thing I would recommend would be to add a bit more shading (possibly with some olive drab or a very warm/light brown on the undersides of the ribbons.

You did great work and the concept is just incredible! ::D:

Love the model(s!) a bunch! The idea and execution are great.

One thought, and this is from painting my miniatures as a super huge novice (comparative to most on the forums), but to shade Yellow, I generally start with a mid-to light range orange (i use a fire orange) at the deepest shadow almost a thin line. I find the warmth of the orange, which also works as an "edging" color is really fun, then highlighting all the way up to white. I'll see if I have a good picture of what I'm talking about in my collection.

I've also seen some use something akin to GW Snakebite leather as a base, working up to the yellow, then highlighting up to white.

(now to go be useless elsewhere :P )
