And there may well be things that can be done for one project in 'gaps' in production for others

eg checking greens for cuts, master mould making, master making, big gap sending off for aproval, actual mould making, test cast, big gap for aproval again, actual casting (where unlike metal you'll mix up batches of resin that will only last so long so all day 8-10 hour cast-a-thons may well not work and you'll need gaps to mix then de-gas more resin, and possibly wait till it reaches casting temp)

Ed can clearly do it all, Brian is getting there, plus 2 (I think) other new staff (not sure if they've started yet, of if they begin when the new shop is done)

all this provides opportunity for mixing things up, and there are plenty of steps before large scale casting can be done

Uh oh, I only now realized something. This thing is going to be mad heavy, Might have to bolt a bench vice to my painting table, and that is with 'paint then assemble' .

And thanks to my ad blocker, I never saw the link to the video. It has a size comparison with a normal mini.

Well, we've made it safe and sound to Troll Forged Miniatures!

Cthulhu is getting set up and ready for molding. We are planning on video taping the molding process on Monday so I hope to have that update for you soon after.

Thanks!!

I'm happy to see this, and quite curious to see how trollcast handles at this size.

It may be a bit optimistic, but I got this response when I asked if they planned to have a master already done when they stop by Reapercon...

Yes, we expect to have at least a master of it there. The goal is to have actual production models there so if anyone that pledged for one will be there, we would be happy to hand deliver it to you! The prints, and t-shirts will still need to be shipped.

I look forward to meeting you. Thanks!

Does anybody else think this looks like a scene from a horror movie that Cthulhu would be watching? I'm just imagining the entitity sitting in the movie theatre covering his eyes with one hand and a few random face tentacles...

Most likely.

OLD ONES Level - 1/61 scale resin multi-part Cthulhu kit. These are the limited edition master castings, cast with fewer parts. Certified and numbered.

NYARLATHOTEP Level - 1/61 scale resin multi-part Cthulhu kit. These are the production castings, cast with fewer parts.

I'm really curious to see how Trollcast handles model kit sized figures. Be cool to see a shake up in that industry.

I wonder if this is the formula they are using.

I got to see this beast and hold it's huge head at Reapercon yesterday. I don't think 14" will cut it for the base. Maybe, I didn't measure, but it sure seemed big to get on 14". The sculptor is taking the first cast home to clean up then they will make molds of that. I could see some of the clean up that it needed, but honestly, I'd be happy with it at the quality it's at now. It's going to be an awesome piece. Still not sure where I'm going to put it? But it'll be awesome somewhere.

Cthulhu's bow legged stance is not as wide as Cthulhu is tall. Sculptor has given a 16.5" height for the model, so it looks like it might be a tight fit.

Well, we're back from Reapercon. We had a great time there and it was great to meet some of our backers!

I just measured the stance and from outer toe to outer to it's just under 13.5".

As to the other comments about the production at Trollforge I could guarantee that Ed was still casting and working on other companies production while we where there, so no worries about anyone being 'bumped' :;):

Next up will be to get another cast from Ed which I will use to make the master model from, fixing any imperfections and refining the fit of all the pieces. This will then be used to make a new set of molds. I'll be posting an update later tonight on my KS with all the info.
