Nice paint work CW, skin tones and NMM are clean and crisp.

Must say I've never liked this sculpt, still don't, despite your fine work on it...

Paint on Cash man!

SK

I agree about the sculpt, its always left me... "meh"... the paint job on the otherhand... it's fantastic!

I think the sculpt is pretty cool. As Jabber said, very Red Sonja-like and I used to read a lot of pulp as a youth (still do!). But this cast was pretty rough. There are a couple bubble holes that are pretty deep and some really rough patches. If I had green stuff skill I probably could've fixed them, but I tried to minimize them with paint and did pretty well.

The skin, though. I disagree with SK on this one. It got a little thick and really chalky. I should've gone back in and glazed it smoother. My excuse that it's 'just a L2PK' has just run dry :p I do like the bronzed skin triad for this kind of model, though.

Smoke + mirrors. Drybrush white onto the top part (over the base coat). Then a thinned line of darkest shadow just under that and then just a few thin mixes moving from that shadow back up to base coat at the bottom (I think maybe 3). Then a quick base coat+white to pick up some reflected light along the bottom.

Edit: when I say drybrush...I don't really use drybrushing anymore, it's more of a wetbrush. Wick most of the paint off and use the edge in a similar theory to catch the raised areas. Much easier on brushes and you don't get dried pigment mess all over.
